I'd take Joe Cole, no problem. Can't see him opting for us over Redknapp at QPR though

Not really bothered about Cole. Would much prefer Arshavin

West Ham are set make their first move in the transfer window with Joe Cole returning to the club on a free from Liverpool.

The former England midfielder, 31, has endured a terrible time on Merseyside since his move from Chelsea in 2010 but wants to get his career back on track by re-signing for the team he started his career at.
Cole is set to put pen-to-paper on a two-and-a-half year deal at Upton Park worth a reported £30,000 per week.
And, as talkSPORT revealed last month, the Reds are set to pay him 50% of his wages for the 18 months left on his deal at Anfield.
He is expected to complete a medical in east London imminently.

Probably would have failed Brians ethos, spirit and desire (aka "what we're about") test anyway :D

I wouldn't take him in a minute,hour,week,month or year.
No thanks and not the sort for a relegation fight I would have thought-too many fancy flicks and not much else.

Actually you're wrong there he was involved in a relegation battle with West Ham back in 2002/3 and he almost single handedly kept us up so don't let all the fancy flicks fool you when he has to Joe Cole knows how to put the boot in when it's needed.t.

I was thinking that. He's obviously got a lot of West Ham in him though, so I imagine he'll be much more useful for west ham than he might have been for us. Good signing that makes a whole lot of sense for all parties involved.

FYI, "almost single-handedly kept us up" is not the same as "single-handedly almost kept us up."

Surely the creative midfielder the club need. Why didn't the powers that be attempt to bring him in?

When West ham came in there was only one place he was going, and it wasn`t here.

Shame. See your point but would have been the perfect signing in the current situation.

What a totally worthless and stupid thread this is.

You've asked why the club didn't go for him. When it's pointed out to you that West Ham were always going to get him you've acknowledged that but said he'd be a good signing.

There are 1000 other players that would be good.

Dumb thread
