Rumour - Didier Digard

by Reading Aloud » 05 Jan 2013 11:58

English Premier League side Reading are interested in Nice midfielder
Didier Digard, a player who has been central to coach Claude Puel’s team
this season.

Digard has enjoyed a fine first half of the season on the French south
coast, playing in all 19 of Nice’s Ligue 1 games so far and helping the
team to a comfortable current placing of ninth.

And according to French sports daily L’Equipe, this has put Digard on
the radar of Reading, who are looking to bolster their squad for the
battle against relegation in the Premier League.

The 26-year-old is a product of Le Havre’s famed youth academy and was
snapped up by Paris Saint-Germain from the club in 2007

For what it's worth, it seems unlikely Nice will be willing to part with Digard. He's terribly, infuriatingly injury prone, but has been healthy for the whole first half of the season (for literally the first time since he arrived) and is an incredibly important leader for the club (he captain but it's more than that). Nice have had a shockingly stable start, but they're always on the verge of sliding into the relegation zone and, with one midfield regular already off to CAN, losing Digard could easily cause things to crumb. Think Puel will hold onto him maybe more tightly than he will anyone else.

So makes sense that we sign him and then he gets injured immediately. The Reading way lol! Another Jimmy?

He looks calm, straightforward, pacey, strong, composed with good feet.

He'll not fit in

Looks like he's good at cutting down counter attacks and has a good head on him when things are going backwards. If we can get him let's go for it.
