SUSPENDED Central Coast Mariners attacking midfielder Tomas Rogic will depart Australia on Thursday to link with Scottish heavyweights Glasgow Celtic at their mid-season training camp in Spain.
The ‘Bhoys’ are currently in Spain preparing for the second half of the Scottish Premier League season as well as their UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie against Italian giants Juventus commencing in February.
Rogic will participate in training as well as sports science and fitness testing with Celtic in Spain, however the Mariners can confirm that no offer has yet been tabled for the recently capped Qantas Socceroo.
Central Coast Mariners General Manager of Football, Lawrie McKinna, said: “This is a great opportunity for Tomas to train with Celtic’s first team squad. Celtic are in their mid-season break and are busy preparing for their Champions League matches against Juventus in February, so Tom will undoubtedly learn a lot from the experience.”
Rogic will re-join his Mariners teammates on Thursday 17 January, two days before he will next be eligible to represent the yellow and navy against Newcastle Jets on Saturday 19 January at Bluenose Stadium.

Does he know that the Scottish League is probably worse than the A-League?
Sure, they are in Europe - but they normally get kicked out early on. (This year excluded)
Oh, and a nice big Fuck You to Craig Moore also. You used to be cool bro, you used to be cool.

SYDNEY, Jan 9 (Reuters) - Promising young Australian midfielder Tom Rogic will take part in a training camp with Scottish club Glasgow Celtic but no offer has been tabled for the 20-year-old, his Central Coast Mariners club said on Wednesday.
Rogic won his first international cap in a friendly against South Korea last November and is rated is one of the most exciting young talents in the A-League.
A three-match suspension for a rash tackle in an A-League match last month will allow him to travel to Spain to join the Scottish champions in mid-season.
"This is a great opportunity for Tomas to train with Celtic's first team squad," said Mariners general manager of football Lawrie McKinna.
"Celtic are in their mid-season break and are busy preparing for their Champions League matches against Juventus in February, so Tom will undoubtedly learn a lot from the experience."
Rogic earned his call-up for the Socceroos after scoring twice in an A-League match against Sydney FC in early November.
"Technically he is very sound but he has that element of creativity, he does the unexpected, which can decide a game and can give a certain flavour to a game," Australia coach Holger Osiek said at the time.
"That is what I like, he is not an average player. Physically he has to mature, his endurance capacity has to improve and his mobility in tight areas needs to get better.
"That will come with time and will be achieved but what you can't achieve is natural talent."

Poor choice from Rogic, good luck to him though.

He’s probably weighed up the likelihood of his getting games for Reading in the Premier League.
He probably (rightly) feels he will play more in the SPL, as well as perhaps getting the chance to play in the Champions League. Bit of a no-brainer really, compared to the likelihood of being a sub in the Championship next season with Reading.

If what I heard today is right, I think a lot of Reading fans will have reason to be fairly pissed off with whoever was in charge of this negotiation. Without saying too much, the failed transfer had nothing to do with Rogic's decision, this has been used as a cover story by both ends.

2 world wars, 1 world cup After our fukkup with tommy smith I don't have a lot of faith in the negotiation team.
And I don't give too much of a toss about Rogic. An unknown really, even though he plays well for 70mins in Oz.
Why he'd go to Celtic over us I have no idea.
Screw him.
Back to R&G?
