RFC flops XI

by marcusopp » 10 Jan 2013 11:44

A few people have eluded to some previous signings that haven't gone 'quite as well as expected' over this transfer window, so how about a flops XI?
I'll get us started...

GK ?
RB ?
LB Joe Mills (bit harsh, but can't think of anyone else)
CB Martin Keown
CB Matt Mills
LM Jim McIntyre
CM Kalifa Cisse
RM Emerse Fae
CF Robert Flack
CF Keith Scott
CF Uwe Hartenburger (great name, but a flop)

Optimist Cisse? CISSE?! Fcuk off.

You can't mock unless you offer an alternative, that's the rules.
I thought he was alright too, but was struggling to think of anyone to put there.
He came here with a decent reputation as a replacement for Sidwell, but wasn't half the player, then left and failed to get established at bristol city. Not sure where he is now

Sean Evers in for Cisse in midfield, definitely.

Would also argue that, whilst unpopular, Mills was not a complete flop - he was pivotal in our run to the play off final (would exclude him for that epic performance at Cardiff in the semi-final alone).

RB - Greg Halford? Signed for big bucks, did nothing of note bar give away a penalty on his debut, left soon after.

Greg Halford was told to find another club after turning up to training drunk. Something like that anyway.

I'm not mocking, I'm outraged! Btw he's now at New England Revolution.

Keith Jones as another contender for centre mid perhaps.

A few of the "Magnificent Seven" must be contenders as well surely?

Also, I think you're a bit harsh on Jimmy McIntyre. Wasn't great as a centre forward admittedly but did a decent job on the wing which wasn't his natural position.

Sodje, Bennet, Khumalo. Anyone who didn't captain us to a play-off final and get sold for a big profit?

Marcus Williams over Joe Mills.

Gunnar Thorvaldsson never really hit it off over here either. Was that even his name?

Mass Sarr? Barring that opening Mad Stad game where he destroyed Luton almost singlehandedly, he was pretty rubbish
