rhroyal I've heard rumours of Baird; would be an excellent signing. Experience, recent good form with Fulham. Can shore up RB, or CM is Carrico and Akman don't step up. Probably not break the bank wages; should we go down he won't leave and will be a quality player down there.

Do it Brian!

Fordham 'confirmed' today we were previously interested but not any more.

I hope it's an attacking midfielder.

We actually tried to sign Ronaldinho in the summer, tried to sell it to him as a way to get fit and force himself into the Brazil squad ready for the 2014 WC. He said he was settled back in Brazil and didn't want to leave Miniero unfortunately.

I've heard Malouda's name thrown into the mix too.

If it's not Sig or Shane Long - I'd take Malouda.

TheSiege Please, let's be sensible about this. 'A Massive Signing':- Old timers - Lampard, Cole, Owen, Bent, Heskey

TheSiege Please, let's be sensible about this. 'A Massive Signing':- Old timers - Lampard, Cole, Owen, Bent, Heskey!!!!
Youngsters - Walcott, Zaha, Wellbeck, Rhodes, Austin, Ince!
These would be 'Massive' for one reason or another. I have suggested players currently in the news about possible departures but, there are more.
Baird, Sidwell or even Graham would in no way be 'Massive'.

You just get more deluded by the second.

Walcott
And stop banging on about your '£40m' hero. There are better players out there.

Try reading what I actually said instead of being a Cn*t! 'Massive signing'! You suggest someone currently in the news who would fulfill that headline!

Please explain Heskey then

It's says major, not massive. That's a big difference.

blueroyals
loyalroyal4life we are only signing one more player according to Mcderm, a shame really as a couple of prem experienced players would have been nice

Source? If so we're fcuked.

Why am I even surprised?

Brian McDermott has dismissed reports linking Reading with a loan move for Manchester United's England striker Danny Welbeck.

McDermott is looking to sign an established Premier League player to assist the club's battle against relegation, but denied Welbeck is on his wish list.

The 22-year-old is behind Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez in the Old Trafford pecking order, leading to speculation he would be loaned to another club until the end of the season.

McDermott distanced himself from one of the more unlikely transfer stories of the January window.

"I can't see Sir Alex Ferguson sending Danny out to any club. I don't know where this has came from, it's got nothing to do with me," McDermott said.

"Welbeck's a great player and I'm sure Sir Alex Ferguson thinks he's a great player too. Everyone in the country thinks that."

Reading have already signed midfielders Daniel Carrico and Hope Akpan during the transfer window and McDermott hopes to make one further addition.

"We're still looking for an experienced player and if we can find one who has played some games in the division that would be good for us," he said.

"It's never easy to find a player like that, but it's definitely on the agenda."

The press dont seem to have broke a story with regards to who this player is that we are talking too. Unless it is someone that has previously been mentioned
