Guthrie was the most complete midfielder for either team tbh.

Reminiscent of Bristol City away last season....let's hope we can carry momentum forward like we did then....

Feds 7
Gunter 5 Gets forward well but doesn't defend effectively enough
Pearce 6.5 Had problems with Lukaku all game but good assist for Pog's winner.
Mapps 6 As above less the assist
Harte 6 OK
Kebe 8.5 Our most dangerous player
Karacan 7 Ratted around
Carrico 6 Clearly lacking match fitness/sharpness but showed quality on the ball
Guthrie 8.5 Pulled all the strings in the second half, best passer on the pitch and plenty of energy too, my MOTM
McAnuff 6.5 Looked lively first half but didnt do too much once moved inside
Pog 7.5 Took his goal well but did nothing first half. Celebration was amazing scenes

McCleary 7 Missed a gilt edged chance but good assist for Kebe and looked good cutting inside.
ALF 7.5 Always lively and unflappable

Ian Royal Yes, serious. First half he gave the ball away too easily far too often. Second half he was better, but all I really saw him do was hit tame shots from outside the box. I expect better of him.

I respect your opinion. We all see different things from the game. I Am not a big fan of his attitude and think he has a lot to prove so have no reason to defend him but whilst the odd pass may have gone astray, this is expected from a playmaker.

Overall his passing and control of the game was a joy to behold. One pass in particular on about 54mins, to kebe that lead to mclearys unluckiliy saved shot- our best chance of the game at the time, was simply phenomenal and created an instant spark.

And even though he's not a ball winner he cleared up nicely after Carico losing the ball.

Very solid performance today.

I'm getting bored of pointing out how stupid Ian is but thought Guthrie and Mariappa (largely) were our best players today. Gunter and McAnuff/Kebe's first half performances were very poor but looked far better second half

I can see this being Gunters last game he was awful, hope shorey comes back into the side as well although he may not change a winning side.

Team looked much improved when we went 4-4-2

A poor performance that was turned around in the last 10 minutes "who'ed a thought it".

A classic end to a game to match the Plymouth turnaround when 3-0 down 27 years ago.

No pity for the fans who left with 10 minutes to go,

Some notes:

Amazing last 10 mins.

Guthrie and Pog showed real premiership class today.

Carrico was oxf*rd but he's new etc

Kebe was good. As was mccleary when he came on, he looked threatening.

4-5-1 is crap. Stick to 4-4-2

That band is as embarissing as Kingsley and Queensley. Please kindly oxf*rd off

3 Points. Wooooo :D

I saw it like this... Always amazed at how we see the same game so differently

iMO Gunter was very poor and a waste of £2.5m+ if we have signed Kelly to take this position.

Also, didn't think Guthrie was all that...

The new guy showed promise...

So was the penalty given for hand ball (Which the whole of the east stand stood up for) or a foul on Kebe. Didn't look like the lino was gonna give anything.

The performance was dire to be honest, but despite that, we won by the skin of our teeth. However, it felt like last season game against Bristol City, which changed our season and I do hope that will happen again. I know we didn't deserved the win, but what we needed was in fact, a win. So I am happy and hopefully next time, we perform better as I saw the desire, commitment and the drive to win. If we did what we did in the last ten minutes in every 90 minutes, then we wouldn't be in this position.

For all the nobbers (you reading this IDEAL?) who think Pog doesn`t have his heart in this club just check out his celebration over and over again, I thought his all round game was superb today, all he needs is the proper service.

2 world wars, 1 world cup Back from the internet I should say. If Anton ain't going to spend money, why should I. I actually earned mine you see.

Having said that I wish I had gone!! Unbelievable victory.

Feds 7. Couple of good saves, didn't do much wrong.
Gunter 6. Not amazing, but not awful.
Harte 6. Not sh*t surprisingly. Actually watching him closely he put in some awesome balls. Still as I say a good attacking player but just not a left back. Can't fault him today though.
Pearce 7. Quite solid.
Maps 7 quite solid.
Mcanuff 6. Was bullied a bit by jones so did ok. He wasn't bad to be fair. When he came into the centre he did a lot better. Te left side is not a fair position for him.
Carico 4. An excellent clever pass when attacking as a positive. Let's not talk about negatives. He was simply embarrassing.
Needs match fitness but I am see promise.
Karacan 7 worked hard, good tackles.
Guthrie 7. Actually put in quite a few awesome passes. His quality is there.
Kebe 8. An enigma. Awesome then rubbish then awesome. He changed the game. Typical kebe.
Pavel 9. Quite possibly the best finisher I've seen play for reading, and I've watched Cureton and Alfie play. give him half a chance and it's in. We MUST give this guy service.

Mcleary- 6.5. Was ok on the left.
Le fondre 7 Super sub. Hm coming on changed the game.

Brian - 9. BALLS to play Carico when not match fit. But even more balls to take him off so early. Yet more balls still to go for the win. Brian you can keep us up.

With all due respect, how can you give score players if you were not there !!

We were not at the races for most of the game, but for the last 10 minutes you had to be there to understand it.

Don't see how someone not at the game can dish out points to the players.

Epic finish. In pub now, Great day to BE AT THE MADSTAD !!

Missed the first half, got home and found a grainy internet feed. Imagine my surprise at seeing a fella bombing up the left wing taking on players, successfully, and slinging in dangerous looking crosses.

'F*ck me,' I thought, 'McAnuff is having a good game.'

It took some time to realise that it was, in fact, McLeary. So that was a big difference today.

FWIW having not seen the whole game, thought Gunter looked poor again, Guthrie needs games and confidence but once or twice looked assured, disappointed to hear Carrico was so far off the pace, Pog looked absolute quality, Kebe sublime, crying out for a more purposeful left back.

When we scored the third I nearly went into orbit.

Ian Royal

Mariappa - 5 ok on the whole, but absolutely gifted Lukaku number two, stood off and just stepped across so he could cut inside and shoot at the whole goal.
Carrico - 5 touch and passing on the whole not bad, not up to speed and poor positioning.
Guthrie - 5 loose telegraphed passing, weak shots, generally just poor

Are you oxf*rd serious?

McAnuff - 5.5 as usual, out of the game once moved inside, some flashes, but just so short of confidence its frightening.
Harte - 5 poor set pieces, gave the ball away easily too often

Agree

Mariappa did better against Lukaku than Pearce did and without Mariappa's speed we could have been in a lot more trouble.
Carrico, great touches, was calm and it shows how shit Legs is when a player who has hardly played and did far better. I was impressed but a few things did go away from him but was very rare unlike Legs which happens to him for majority of the time.

Guthrie- Just to take the biscuit from you. Controlled the midfield, great passes and only a few passes did not find his man but at least he is trying to find a pass to a team mate. He got tackles in and kept us going. IMO Man of the match by far.

Nailed on foul from the TV replays. Kebe was virtually cut in half. Not sure what the ref was doing going over and talking to him as he lay prone though. It was almost as if he was asking Jimmy whether he should give a penalty or not.
