Royalist Non league prices are a huge rip of in the 'higher' leagues as i've said before. £12 is the same price as Reading in the FA Cup v Sheffield United than Basingstoke vs some other small town! It's madness!

:mrgreen: Would agree its rather ironic but i spoke out against W&E spending and the Windsor FC first season spending too! The later on here.

Just look at this tweet for someone who went to Alfreton the other night. MADNESS! https://twitter.com/BrynLaw/status/289155002503684096

Every year some Slough Town fans walk to the last away game of the season to raise money for charity. Last season, the last game was against Woodford, which is 65 miles from Slough - they walked there over 3 days, only to find that the game was called off that day due to the awful weather (to be fair, the club let them in and looked after them). Shame that they are where they are, but the population of the village is only in the hundreds, so they have been very much punching above their weight.

In other Rebels news, Ryan O'Toole (ex-Windsor) has joined, but has possibly fractured his ankle on his debut :roll:

Is there a closer division other than conference sout?

Basingstoke are on same points as second from bottom teams and yet only 6 points from 7th!

Crazy.

Four Of Clubs Marlow v Binfield - match at Stubbs Lane earlier this year was 'lively'

Huge game this, best attack v best defence, Binfield are 11(10 wins and a draw) unbeaten in the league, up to 3rd and only 10 points behind Marlow. I probably would have gone had RFC not been at home tomorrow

Got told last weekend that when Ian Davies left Binfield for Marlow earlier in the season his match fee went up 50% and his goal bonus was doubled. Marlow certainly chucking a bit of money around, and so far its paying off. Anyone know if their ground is up to regs to allow promotion??

... can't think why not - since they've only just dropped down to STEP05 - if they have capital then it wouldn't take much to tweak enough to pass the Ground Grading.

All a bit quiet on their proposed new development over the other side of the A404(M) - plans have been up in the clubhouse for a few years now - big issue seems to be with Wycombe District Council. Was also a rumour they'd be 'sharing' any new site with Flackwell Heath who probably still have ambitions of playing back at a higher level themselves?

Shame in part though we'd lose two really 'quaint' NL grounds if they did manage both move into a new one?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For those of you NOT partaking in the undoubted thrills at the MadStad this PM and pondering NL - be warned that the list above is now much reduced due to the wet stuff - most of it further south & west ie the Western & Wessex leagues are almost wiped out this PM.
Nearby matches have been Postponed at: Bracknell, Flackwell, Maidenhead (Reserves), Witney, Molesey, Cheltenham Saracens, Bedfont Sports, Epsom Athletic, Raynes Park Vale , Farnham & Westfield - Sheerwater is flooded but at least they might play on an outside (Training) pitch.
A few others OFF in the Conference South too Eastleigh, Eastbourne Boro, Havant and in the SL @ Bashley, Sholing, Taunton Yate and Bps Cleeve - amongst others.... so far :|
Windsor beat Ash 7-0 (again) and move up to 4th. Could go 2nd with a win on Monday night. Unbelievable really.
Just signed 4 new youngsters from Hayes & Yeading. 2 came on from the bench and looked class. We are going to be very difficult to beat for the rest of the season if this squad stays together.
What a transformation.
I was thinking this just the other week - I saw a load of games postponed but fourth bottom Maidenhead played and won, the result being they jumped to 9th!! (Something like that anyway).
Dorchester 2nd from bottom. Win their games in hand and they go 2 points clear of Dover who are 3rd! (of course other teams above have games in hand but you get the gist). Crazy.
Basingstoke win again - leap from 19th to 13th.
Actually played last week, and sorry to gatecrash your thread FoC (more chance of someone reading it, if you wrote it :wink: )
Incidently, they fielded a defence and gk with the combined age of over 300 last season (nearly as old as the Nobbers back row March 2004)
I see the farce that is the Hellenic League is not being helped by the weather. Bracknell and Woodley have both only played 11 league games compared with 20 by the leaders, Rayners Lane, in the East Division.
And, probably predictably, then we go and get beaten 2-1 at home by "lowly" Chessington & Hook, who deserved their win. Missed Harris and Bullivant, the latter of whom fell off a ladder over the weekend apparently. Oops.
Poorest we've looked for a couple of months, and lowest crowd for a year or more at 105, not surprising as it was (obviously) cold and wet. Still higher than any other club in the league (apart from Guernsey) manage on a regular basis.
Am hearing all sorts coming out of a Slough Town reserve game. Apparently 4 players ended up in hospital after a brawl! :shock:
That said a wall of silence on the Slough message board so it might all be hearsay!
As for Windsor didn't make the game hope 'Bully' is okay and Harris misses alot of games but then that's good practice for next year!
Yep, just seen the stories :shock:
Not surprising it's quiet on the message board, as few fans go to Res matches when the 1st team are playing. Anyway, fully expect the offenders to be dealt with, the chairman's not going to stand for that sort of behaviour with the ground stuff so close to being decided upon
In other news (again), yet another ex-Windsor/Hemel player now signed, in Kyle Anthony - any thoughts on him?
Class.
He is a central defender by trade but good enough to play midfield and, at a push, up front. Scored a decent number of goals for Windsor and is a good finisher.
You won't be disappointed.
Capable of playing at a higher level.
Keith Scott was at the game on Saturday apparently - still looking after "his" boys.
