Tbh he was world class, was being the operative word, and if he was still world class no way would he be coming here, although I'd love him to

‘Form is temporary, class is permanent.’ This cliche is made up of two short statements. The first, form is temporary, means that form, or a player’s current level, their recent performances, are transitory, or will change soon, are not lasting. The second statement, class is permanent, means that class, or natural ability, skill, a player’s real level, is permanent. Permanent means unchanging, something that lasts forever. So when you put these two statements together in the cliche, ‘Form is temporary, class is permanent’, you are emphasizing the fact that we shouldn’t judge a player on their recent games, but on a longer look at their playing history. A good player, doesn’t change into a bad player suddenly.

I've always taken delight at watching Bentley's career fail ever since his "I'm too good for England U21s" episode. Knob. Not our type of character.

But good on the ball, skillful, creative. Could tolerate having him on loan; no way to permanent signing. I know it's bollocks anyway.

No but a talented player who is an arse can easily decline into obscurity. If class 'lasts forever' let's sign up Bobby Charlton and Pele.

I know he is being slated a lot based on the fact he has failed at Spurs and played for West Sham. But I think all this guy needs is a run of games in a team like us. Look what he did for Blackburn almost every shot/free kick he had resulted in a goal.

I think he could be useful for us if played in the right position. He will be going for a cut price if he is leaving I imagine. Could be a very good bit of business and he will certainly know himself he wouldn't be able to demand stupid wages after his fitness issues. Perhaps a loan?

This may not be to far from the thruth, Spurs will let him go now and he just wants football. We have made an offer at the start of the month after been informed of his availability by Spurs, I also know Norwich and Wolves have also enquired.

Recently returned from Russia after a loan there and from my info he want's to weight up all his options as now it is a case of playing and not the money for him. He also wants to see all his options and will only decide at the end of the window which isnt ideal for us be we have left our offer in there.

Would he be our answer to sucess? Probaly not but I do know he wants to come into a more central role and not play wide so would be different and could be better than Legs.

Quality player but his attitude is a massive :?: He hasn't played much football for what feels like years (is it?) You have to ask why. It's more than just injuries.

For his ability then yes please. But only if he's grown up.

Was quality at Blackburn, started well at Spurs but then look at the way they played and the players they had in his 'position', place the ball on a sixpence but lacks pace. There game was all about the flying wingers.
He was prepared to go to MK Dons last season as friends with Karl Robinson but Spurs blocked that.sent to Wet Sham and Birmingham City.
As far as the attitude definatley not the case more the media. He just wants to play football.
