JayRoyal Couple of questions here:

First game of the season for me, I live in Darlington, so Its hard for me to get to the games. I'm taking a couple of my mates who are students with me (both support Liverpool but are well up for going along)

1. I'm a member, but they aren't, how will I book? Will we sell our allocation cause we could get them on the day I suppose.

2. When it says student discount, is that college or university, we're all at college (hence me not being able to afford to come down for games)

Thanks for the help

Sell out our allocation ? LOL.

Anyone staying up there the night before?

Is there a pub near the ground for aways? I am told th atmosphere in the ground about an hour before kick off is worth getting in early for? Any advice appreciated.

I am booked in the Sandman hotel practically opposite the ground if anyone fancies meeting up before the game.

Just stay away from The Strawberry. Pre match - even the Shearer Bar is accommodating to a point.

Yea I'm going up Friday afternoon and coming back Sunday midday.

Not personally sure where to drink though. Will be taking it easy as I'll be out after the game also.

I'm going up early on the Saturday and coming back on the Sunday.

Driving and have two spare spaces left in the car, so if anyone wants a lift there and back (or just one way) for a share of the petrol money please PM me.

Flying up on the Friday from Bristol and back on the Sunday , would be good if a few reading fans all met up and had a few beers on the Friday and Saturday before the game

In for this despite really needing to save some money. Surprised tickets still left @ £20 a pop. Very good value.

Fellow travellers let me know where is good for pre & post match drinks. Thanks.

First game for a while, excited!

Got friends coming up from Reading for a casual beverage in Notts on the Friday then driving from here on Saturday. Haven't been to Newcastle at all since I was a child so really looking forward to it.

Newcastle are there for the taking! Either way fun will be had and I am looking forward to seeing the team in the flesh for the first time this season.

City Vaults on the Bigg Market is good if you want to see some tits while supping your pint on matchdays.

Surely statistically we are due a win away and where better than at St Jame's?

I am flying in from Amsterdam Friday night. I will be in the bar at the Sandman hotel Saturday lunch - please come an join me if you wish. Will probably be the only person in Reading shirt so not difficult to spot.

Or someone better than me organise a pub where we call all meet and go to the game together.

No it's not. Forecast is for snow midweek then warming up from Thursday - no weather warnings anywhere in the UK after Wednesday.

Some uncertainty in the details of the forecast, however through the weekend there should be a good deal of dry and bright weather, but with the risk of snow showers in the east and southeast
