Jackson Corner Possible but WBA would want there 6 million back. Out of our price range.

you have made a massive assumption that wba have paid the whole amount and that we'd pay the whole amount in one go - pretty sure most trasnfers dont work like that

It looked at one point last night as if Shane was headed to Hull but I assume it didn't come off. Suggests that he might be surplus to requirements now at WBA. Would he be welcome back on a loan?

Can't see it happening, and to be honest other than one incredible season he's always been in single figures. Not sure he's the type of player we need. That said, I'd welcome him back with open arms.

Not sure with change of manager that we would have the same pull for him as before

I think his move depended on West Brom getting Lukaku in - he went to Everton, so West Brom couldnt release him. So I would say no he will not be allowed to leave.

However, he would be great - strong as an ox, extremely quick, and unlike with Suarez, his dives win penalties

It could be the other way around. Maybe WBA were bringing in Lukaku to replace Long, but when he turned down the Hull move WBA couldn't afford Lukaku, so he went to Everton.
This may sound unlikely, but the news earlier last night was that Lukaku had initially chosen WBA over Everton.
Unfortunately this does still result in him not being surplus to requirements at WBA, although it does maybe make him pissed at WBA for thinking of selling him (to Hull of all teams as well).

unbelievable, Shane Long was a pawn in the Lakuku transfer saga and WBA wouldn't cough the loan fee, simple. he will be well pissed off but professional and probably look for a move in Jan or a loan before once it opens. Many lower league PL teams will take him, as will all of the championship teams. Far better than Pog but won't be coming back here in a year of sundays....backwards at his age, sadly

WBA have Vydra, Long, Anichebe, Anelka and Sessegnon (plus youth). According to reports it was Hull that moved the goal posts, hence the transfer fell through. Now, as Premier League clubs cant sign on loan outside the window, he only has 3 options: Stay and fight for his place, move on loan to a lower league or move abroad where the transfer window is still open. So it could be realistic for Reading to make a move for him and WBA allow it.
