Stick a release clause into the contract that says he can leave for another club if we get relegated for a nominal fee

tomrfcurz Arsenal want to get rid, ideally not to loan. They'd rather get rid now and Reading are prepared to pay the transfer fee, believe its around £3mil.

Problem is AA wants £85k a week

Around £15 million for a 2 and a half year contract, Madejski will be drowning his sorrows in the Purple Turtle.

Why? He's not paying for it!

Plus that's the stumbling block. No way will Reading pay those sort of wages

If I'm correct he still owns 49% of the club, a club that paying those wages will be not only be in the championship but in administration.

Seems like wages are the stumbling block. Just doesn't seem like we are getting anywhere near to the deal coming to fruition, he might not have even held talks with us. Everyone keeps saying the same thing

No way would Reading consider paying stupid wages like this. And if, and it is a massive if, Reading stay up, what about the wages for the rest of his contract?

TBF We could sign RVP but unless he has good service hes not going to score bar a couple of woooorlldy flames

Pog has got a really good hit rate and our team doesn't really have a problem with scoring. Harte and Shorey are great deliverers and we can always be threatening on set pieces.

Why spunk a load of money on this guy who we know used to be good playing for Arsenal but have no idea what hes like these days especially playing our style which lets face it is nothing like Arsenals play

Don't think we will hear a great deal until deadline day on our part. You may get the stories about Fulham and PSV popping up. I echo the comments about Arsenal wanting to sell and not loan. They will want him off their wage bill for good and asap.

However if no one is coming in for him by deadline day I think thats when we will make our approach if there is to be any. Whether he would want to take up any offer be it loan or a permanent is yet to be known.

Confident he will come if offered the right deal, whether you like it or not, he'll be here for the money and the Pogrebnyak/Zingarevich connections only. Think however he will hold out, like previously stated, until deadline day or close to. He's in no rush at the end of the day.

The only way Arshavin will come here is if no other Premier League club offers him a deal, he wants to stay in the league so very may well settle for a deal at Reading to keep him in the spotlight for 6 months. But it won't be cheap. Told he will not settle for anything less than £60k a week but is holding out for his current deal of £85k as long as he can
