LoyalRoyal22 Imagine the excitement if we pulled this off on deadline day

Yeah, someone who's hoping and praying that someone, anyone, comes in with a half-decent offer so he doesn't have to play for Reading. As quality a player as he is, this one is leaving me a little cold.

if he did sign the amount of extra revenue we'd generate from Russia having Pog and Arshavin would more than pay his high wages.

tomrfcurz Confident he will come if offered the right deal, whether you like it or not, he'll be here for the money and the Pogrebnyak/Zingarevich connections only. Think however he will hold out, like previously stated, until deadline day or close to. He's in no rush at the end of the day.

The only way Arshavin will come here is if no other Premier League club offers him a deal, he wants to stay in the league so very may well settle for a deal at Reading to keep him in the spotlight for 6 months. But it won't be cheap. Told he will not settle for anything less than £60k a week but is holding out for his current deal of £85k as long as he can

Even if he does come for the money, .....he will be here,....and once he's here the 'TEAM' mentality will rub off. Look how hard 'The POG' is working for the TEAM now! Brian can and will work his magic,....if 'The RAY' comes.

This thread is delusional. He is a top top international player. Why would he sign with a club that is say 75-80% likely to go down?

We have signed someone from Crawley, a RB that has only appeared 16 times for Fulham in the last 2 season IIRC & we are chasing someone from Zambia.

^

Does not equate to us blowing a load of cash on Arshavin!

I can't decide if this is more absurd than the Welbeck rumour or not.

Think about the level of "The Arshavin Move" that saved Reading in the English Premier League! Take that Arsenal! Take that Russian National Team! 'The Ray' will be right back on top,.....just where he believes he should be....... With Reading starting to show that they are capable of the 'WIN', this is now a very real possibility for him...... :) 8)

Kelly played 34 games for Fulham last season. So almost half right, or just mostly wrong.

It's pedantic to say that you were completely wrong? Oh, ok. That makes sense.

Russian interview with Anton google translates roughtly as follows

Zingarevich: "We have Arshavin had a private conversation"

Reading owner Anton Zingarevich not exclude option invitation Arsenal midfielder Andrei Arshavin.

The fact it is ready to pay his Zingarevich Player 80 thousand pounds a week

Not at this time, we went to the Premier League last year alone. We have leaders who receive a salary, and I can not break the psychological state of the team, leading the one who will get a lot more than others. So never do that. Since the summer we will be financially able to pay the money, but the question is whether we want it.

About whether Arshavin, who earns 80,000 at Arsenal, go to Reading

I do not think Andrei could now get 80 thousand a week from any club Premier League. So if he decides to go somewhere, Arsenal will have to pay a portion of his salary and still let the player for free. Making the transition to Reading until I can neither deny nor confirm this scenario. Can happen anything.

On information that Arshavin has rejected the offer of Reading lease

Formal proposal has been received by us. Yes, we have with Andrei had a private conversation. But this does not mean that we are talking exclusively to the issue of transfer. Specifically, the transition is not discussed in Reading, have not progressed so far that it came to signing the contract. Just trying to understand how this is possible.

The fact is there any sense to wait and take Arshavin in the summer when he becomes a free agent

Theoretically, if the proposal of a club suit Andrei, it could be rented for free, and in the summer to sign a full contract. And until the summer to pay as much as the club will be willing to pay. The rest would be paid the rest by Arsenal. In fact, the only question to the players Arshavin: what he wants for himself? At the moment he just sits and thinks about it.

So unless Arshavin drops his salary to the level of our top earners, he isn't coming. Good.

Or Arsenal make up the shortfall whilst he's on loan.
