Defensive error stats..

http://www.eplindex.com/24736/defensive-error-prone-players-premier-league-stats-comparison.html?

"Reading’s Adam Federici takes the wooden spoon here committing an error that leads to conceding a goal every 337.5 minutes – the equivalent of conceding a goal by mistake every 3.75 games which is basically conceding 10 goals a season just because of your own mistake. If Reading are relegated – statistics like these will point to 10 goals conceded because of silly errors and those ten goals can be the difference of ten points or more."

Trying to remember Federici's errors, but weren't most of them very early on in the season
when, clearly, he was injured/off-form/getting used to the new ball?

It would be interesting to see WHICH errors constitute the six errors mentioned.

I can only think of these possibles

Stoke
Chelsea, Cahill Goal.
Chelsea's 4th Goal?

Wigan Away?

Man Utd's First Goal?
Man Utd slip-up (not a goal)

WBA's second?

Those stats are clearly rubbish. They have none of our other players committing four defensive errors. If we haven't conceded four shots because of Gorkss then I would be very surprised. It's 50-50 in my head whether we've conceded four goals because of him.

I'm sorry, okay? I'm just having a hard time right at work right now and I dunno, we seem to be drifting apart and it scares me. I do love you, but I worry that is not enough.

Routine bites hard and ambitions are low. Resentment rides high but emotions won’t grow. We are changing our ways, taking different roads.

People were slating Federici under the Rodgers era, he cost us a lot of points then.

People have been slating Federici under the McDermott era, he has cost us a lot of points.

Has Federici improved as a keeper over this period, or has the back four in front of him improved instead? I'd say the latter.

He's one of the best keepers at one-on-ones I've ever seen. I reckon hes saved us more points by making saves very few keepers would make than he's cost us becuase of errors.

Not sure how he's cost us 6 this season either:
2pts vs Stoke
1pt vs Chelsea
1pt vs Man United

Em... I think we're all forgetting that Lukaku is FANTASTIC. And that was a FANTASTIC strike.

Feds was positioning himself rest for the cross and was wrongfooted. That happens against amazing strikers. No biggie.

Yes hindsight is a great thing but I think we'd all be complaining if he went closer to his left post and out a bit only for Lukaku to cross it for the other man to put it into free goal.

Unfortunately Feds can't predict the future.

I'm a bit disappointed that kebe didn't help him though in that regard. But we all know he does what he wants.

Remind me which player kept us in it in the first half?

(Hint: it wasn't Stuart Taylor)

The Tilehurst End view:

Adam Federici was the hero of the first half as he denied Papiss Cisse in world class fashion on three separate occasions, but Yohan Cabaye's measured free-kick gave the Magpies a half-time lead.

Absolutely stonking game today. Without him, we'd have possibly been looking at whooping.

As one of the fans who thought Feds should be dropped earlier on in the season, I am delighted to see him back on form. Has been for the last 5/6 games or so.

Great game for Feds today. More than happy for him to play like that and us nick it by a goal and then have the occasional booboo in a game when we score a few more.

Ideal
PistolPete Yep, you're right, let's use a league 2 keeper as an example of how Federici could be better

..and the league 2 keeper seems to be better than feds.

My god, the guy with seal clubbing as an avatar, I just have to remind he board of what a fool you are. Federici worse than a league two keeper eh? Positioning poor?

Idiot.
