pearcetom my mates driving us up tomorrow...hopefully! is it just pretty much up the M1 all the way? anyone know what roads normally get closed during these conditions?

It's M1 A1(m) A1 pretty much all the way.

Should be well gritted. Not that much snow up here at the moment.

I'm staying at the travelodge tonight and tomorrow.

Newcastle is absolutely fine. It snowed a bit earlier but nothing now. The ground is wet and a tiny bit slushy in places. Confident game will be on now.

M40 Oxfordshire, northbound between A43 Brackley [M40 junction 10] and A361 [M40 junction 11]
M40 Oxfordshire - Two lanes closed and queueing traffic on M40 northbound between J10, A43 (Brackley) and J11, A361 (Banbury), because of recovery work and a jackknifed lorry. Travel time is up to 30 minutes.

The Newcastle safety officer said that the game will go ahead tomorrow. He said any snow that falls will be cleared off the pitch and surrounding pavements in time for the game.

Unless you get snow Armageddon style, obviously.

Edit:

Not looking good at this rate.

08:30 from Kings Cross, all trains KC to Newcastle today cancelled, tomorrows schedule unaffected as of an hour ago.

Fingers crossed.

The club and the council seem pretty determined to make it happen which is a good sign. Keep the faith!
