larry1971 interesting piece in todays Daily Mail, Redknapp says that unless QPR win soon then there is quote " no point in buying anybody in January as we will already be down" with Reading only 2pts better off and 6pts from safety it's going to be pretty much the same for us .QPR, have one great advantage over us they have Redknapp, whether he was at West Ham or Portsmouth he has always had the knack, despite of the clubs position in the relegation zone of persauding and bringing in quality players to save the club from relegation. Even if Mcdermott, is in charge next month he simply does not have the same quality or personality of Rednapp to be able to bring in those quality players needed to stay up and even if we do sack Mcdermott apart from loan signings I can't honestly see who is going to want to join the club.

Both Southampton and Portsmouth nearly went bust following his stewardship. He is a chequebook manager. At Portsmouth they have received almost no long term benefit to their extended stay in the top flight as all the excess money just went in ridiculous player wages. Such that their infrastructure is no better than most of their relegation rivals in league 1.

I don't dissagree with that the point I'm trying to make is that despite being in a relegation battle we would find it much easier to attract new signings if you had some one like Redknapp or Alardyce in charge - I just don't feel that Mcdermott has a strong enough personality to be able to talk those quality players needed intio wanting to join the club.

What attracts those new players to 'Arry's teams is the colossol amounts of wedge he throws at them to come to whichever club he is at; as has been said, he pretty well single-handedly put both Pompey and Saints into financial dire straits, and anyone who believes his PR that he is some sort of footballing genius is deluded; christ, even the FA - the most un-football savvy group of old duffers in the World - preferred Hodgson to that joker!

As for saying that unless they get a few points there won't be any transfers in January - dream on!!! Its all a mind game he is playing with his current squad, though for the life of me, I think the appearance of chucking in the towel at this stage seems a tad premature. But never forget that 'Arry LOVES the whole transfer window shenanghans; conducting off the cuff interviews through his car window about this player or that......he will bring in 5 or 6 players at least.

didnt work at saints where he bought players, they didnt keep them up, and the financial fall out meant they had to go down two divisions

This is why we have a board who know what they are doing, rather than fickle fans who know nothing..........

IIRC it was closer to 65% or even higher, people have steadily changed their votes since the West Ham match.

And how can people change the votes? They are cast after all. Change your mind with the wind is no better option either.
