Speculation - Can BM Save Him - Michael Johnson's glittering

by Royal Bahamas » 19 Jan 2013 22:56

Man City finally give up on Michael Johnson. Is Brian the Man that can help him come back, and give him the means to produce the amazing potential that he showed at the early stages of his career? He's only 24, and is the type of player who could be at the top of his game into his mid-30's. A CM for the mainstay of RFC?

If any Premier League manager could sort him out, it is McDermott.

Not sure any manager could though. Why would Johnson give up his luxuries when he has earned millions for the last three years for doing nothing?

Sure BMc could turn water in to wine. Of course he could turn MJ's fortunes around.

Unlucky with injuries but else wise, Why he fcuk would we want to waste the time, effort & money saving this waster?

At some stage in life you want to be the 'person' that inside you, you know you could have been. Most of us don't know who that person is, until many years after we might just have been able to do so. In his case, he is right now having one of those 'moments', at the age of 24, where he is at a crossroads, and will be making a decision. BM could possibly help him in that, and a couple of our 'old guard' could help as well. He has lost the 'Respect and Belief for HIMSELF', and it shows in his actions, of DIU's and Mental Health...... all of which came after his PHYSICAL INJURIES. He may well be savable.....

The sympathy of football fans huh.

When he was fit and playing for City he was a wonderful player to watch. A real shame his mental issues and ensuing off the field problems prevented a promising career.

I'd have him here on non-contract terms for 6 months just to get the weight off and get him fit. As part of that contract I'd make it clear he is never to turn up to training late, he lives a t-total life and ideally stays with one of the more experienced players. If at the end of that contract he is fit and has proven he has grown up and turned his life around, and he can pass a medical, then I'd consider a one-year deal with the view of an additional year, and take it from there.

Looking at him now and knowing his problems, I can't see anyone being prepared to give the guy that chance and that level of support though. I think the sooner he moves away from Manchester and his 'friends' the better.

This. It's sad what so much money can do to young players.

I'm sure Man City did and he wasn't interested.

Poor wording. "as part of that deal" or summit. 6 months to get in shape, change life, prove himself and try and earn a last chance.
