It does put into some perspective just how much news outlets rely on Twitter nowadays. I know they'd have no reason to doubt him, but there were some places reporting it as fact without even so much as a nod to the Tweet (just along the lines of: "Jimmy Kebe is having a medical at Newcastle ahead of signing a 4 year deal.") I even saw one report who had shaped it into a story with quotes from a 'source'!
