Royal Rother Sigurdsson is the next Sidwell.

A good player but not good enough to hold down a place in a Top 6 team, forever revered by RFC fans who will still be desperate to get him back 5+ years after he left.

Maybe.

We already have Shorey back and Bryn is still here... Let's re-construct the 06 outfit. What are Seol Ki-Hyeon and James Harper doing?

Think Harper is at Donny!

He is. With Griff. Little is still at Wrexham and Seol is back home boiling dogs in a restaurant.

Reckon he'll come back on loan if Spurs sign Holtby this week.

Quite simply he's not as good as people tend to think. A step up from Sidwell but not a really top top class player.

(Edit: Just looking back at the thread and I'd completely forgotten that I'd said pretty much the same thing last year. Must be getting old.)

Didn't flop in Germany, hasn't flopped at Spurs. Poor management on both sides (though is that the whole story?).

Although admittedly he did nothing today against Leeds. I guess, when played in his perfect role, he performs - e.g. Swansea/us.

Every time I've watched him at Spurs he's been poor, also very greedy. As for poor management, at big clubs he isnt going to be the centre of everything maybe he needs to be the big fish in a small pond?
I remember he started really well in Germany then tailed off

he did very well his first season, i think he got 9 goals in like 30 appearances. i still believe him to be a top class player, avb just isnt playing him right. also he is being used as a substitute for most of his appearances for the spurs so he isnt getting much time to perform.

To be fair we built a whole system around Gylfi, as he was that good. Swansea played a similar system where he would be the main playmaker, so again it suited him. At Spurs they are not going to build a system around him when he's got the likes of Bale, Lennon, Defoe and Dembele around him. Too good for us, but he's going to have to adapt to fit into a big team, or I think he'll end up at a midtable team.

I agree, although I think he understands this himself - and that's where he's going wrong. He moved to Spurs because of the likes of Bale, Lennon, etc. IIRC and I think maybe he's adjusting himself wrong.

I have no idea what I'm talking about, however someone insulted Gylfi, so I believe an execution is in order.

Change the record, why would we want him back? When we have snapped up Ronaldo and Messi in this transfer window he wont even start a game!

Had a great first Season and the fans loved him. Tied Top Scorer with Ba at one stage. Voted Player of the Year! Started the next Season with an injury,...and then a new Manager. The injury problem led to the new guy not putting him into his plans,....and then he just couldn't get a look in. Once he moved to Swansea and showed once again what he was capable of, the "new Manager at Hoffenheim" was let go. The 'New' new Manager tried to get him to stay in Germany, but by that time Gylfi was no longer interested,.....and had a lot of Clubs after him. Now Gylfi was purchased by Spurs, but NOT I think by the 'New Manager".......Sound familiar.....?

Not going to happen, get over it.

Some of you in this thread sound like the clingy ex-boyfriend who w@nks off into a pair of knickers she left behind every time he 'stumbles across' her facebook profile.
