So they should've buggered off at 15 mins and we wouldn't have gone behind in the 1st place

Pandoras Box Did you enjoy it? Yes.
Did they enjoy it? no.
Did those people leaving stop us from scoring 3 goals? No.
So why the fvck does it bother you?

Because there are few things more demoralising to a team than their home fans exiting in droves whilst the game is still in progress. Arguably worse than staying and booing after the match finishes,

In an ideal world everyone would stay to show their support.

2-0 down with 10 mins to go isn't that cut and dry. A lot can happen in 10-15 mins, especially with Reading.

That game was a perfect example as to why you should never leave a game early. I wasnt there but I know if I had been I wouldnt have left early, as I never have and never will. Like the captain said, our fans should know better by now #wealwaysscorelategoals

Lots of interesting comment (and some dross) over the rights and wrongs, pluses and minuses, of leaving early. Again.
But I think the OP just wanted to know how those who left early felt.
I expect there were only a few possible answers:
Gutted - I never leave early but just had to this once.
Annoyed - I frequently/always leave early but wish I'd been there
C'est la vie - I frequently/always leave early and recognise that there will be times when I'll miss something
Did something happen?

Vision I don't leave early to catch a bus, train or to beat the traffic.

I leave early because I want to catch the last 10 minutes of Soccer Saturday in the concourse. If I didn't I'd miss the best bits at the end of games where Geoff goes into spaz mode at the significance of every single goal. It's what proper soccer is all about and how else am I supposed to find out what my other teams are doing?

Can't see how that makes me less of a supporter than anyone else tbh.

'Coz when you're in the concourse catching up on rivals results, your not, er ... supporting our team in any way the team can feel ? How hard can it be ?

maffff
mr_number What if you find it all too brutally depressing and just want to get away?

Dig out your old Chelsea/Man City/Man U/Arsenal/whatever else shirt and bugger off.

Not sure you'd be that depressed by Reading losing if you in fact supported another team... Bored of them losing maybe, but emotionally you'd probably be fairly ambivalent.

I'm sure some statto can tell us how many games we've been 2 goals down in the last 10 minutes and gone on to either win or draw games.

It can't be that many. Less than 1 a season?

I never leave early BUT I do know a lot who do. A lot leave so that they can get out of the car park before the barriers go down to hold them until the bulk of the pedestrians have gone. If they want to pay Season Ticket and the extra to park in the main car park, and they want to leave early then it's up to them. I know others that stay till the players have warmed down and then go to the Hotel for a beer while the traffic dies down - again it's up to them. As for it having an effect on the players - well I don't know as I have never played in front of crowds greater than 10 , but I would hope that my concentration would be on the game and not looking to see how many seats were empty in the stand. The main "singing" sections do not leave early so I reckon the players don't even notice.
It happens at every ground across the country and Reading is no worse than any other, so lets not bother with this thread anymore please.

Unusually I left 4 mins early on Saturday and got home 40 minutes earlier than usual cos the game had been dead for half an hour. I can see why people do if they are in the stadium car park.

NB - I've never missed a result-changing goal by leaving early.

Which means you should leave early when we're winning and stay if we're not

Well it wouldn't have had the same satirical bite then would it?

You've been around long enough to take your whoosh with good grace though I'm sure

Just got in from a flight from Jeddah and my phone ran out of juice as I turned it on when we landed. Just enough time to see we were 2 down..... Kin L. That is all.

What were the odds last week on ALF being top scorer? What are they now?

5 minutes of build up for the second goal. Epic scenes in Y26.
