Now that the transfer business is done for this season. Who's for the drop?
Odds as of 01/02/2013:
Reading - 1/2
Villa - 8/13
QPR - 8/13
Wigan - 5/4
Saints - 7/4
Newcastle - 11/2
Norwich - 11/2
Reading - Brought players in, although mainly unknowns and speculative signings. McD has instilled a bit more resilience since the new year, home games against relegation rivals could be key.
Villa - Young and inexperienced squad. Haven't done much in this window and confidence is low. Lambert has got his work cut out.
QPR - Loadsamoney gamble. 'arry could get them motivated but they'll have to go on a good run nonetheless.
Wigan - Gone down the player loan route this window. Unpredictable, Martinez has been here before though and has rescued them from these positions.
Saints - Picked up form gradually. Good showing at Old Trafford even in defeat. Almighty managerial gamble, and will the players adapt to ensure enough points are won?
Newcastle - Spent a bit and needed to. Lost their leading scorer but still have a few top half Premier League quality players. Will be boosted by the win at Villa.
Norwich - Becchio wasn't exactly a huge signing and they look stronger defensively than they do going forward. Goals could be an issue and 7 pts clear is not enough to be comfortable given their squad.
Unfortunately I'll go; Reading, Villa and QPR bottom 3. Bookies to get it right.
