akranes :D How angry would everyone be if Blackman was our only new addition in the next two days? By the reaction - LOTS.

There will be riots on the streets of Whitley, the place will be completely trashed, the World Turned Upside Down will be...... How do we launch a protest in Ince's parking space if he didn't have one?

Could paint him a parking space using SJM and AZ's blood.

No that wouldn't work. The 'Z' family could have used that one before in their dealings with their, claimed, business acquaintances. He will know what to expect. Think it could be a flash mob into B & Q effort!

Brian made a huge mistake by getting peoples hopes up, so if it does blow up in his face, then he only has himself to blame.

Coutinho going to Liverpool almost certainly ends their interest in Ince. The only reason I can see them bidding now is to drive the price up, which Blackpool will be more than happy with. Lets just hope we did have the boy down today for a medical and we can get it done. It sounds like a two horse race in any case.

Wait who said he is having a medical?

Royalwaster My biggest fear if we sign him is that he may eclipse Jimmy's greatness and what that would do for the followers of his religion?!

That will never happen.

My biggest fear is getting accidentally castrated by a chainsaw, whilst my house explodes and all my friends die. And then I get aids.

Wow. You poor thing. At least you can look to Jimmy to console you.

I wish he would do as I prayed, but he does what he wants :(

I don't understand why Brian confirming our interest means it's his fault if stupid people get angry about us not managing to sign him.

Bandini
Tokyo Sex Whale http://www.lemonparty.org have an interesting take on the whole situation. They seem to have a clearer picture of the terms of the offer as well as Liverpool's involvement.

Yeah, but you always get a different perspective on the value of experience there.

It certainly appears that scoring won't be an issue if this goes through.

Agreed... though (and he admits it) it is just confusing why he would come out and speak like that about a player who's not ours.

FozzieBear - posts on here and tweets under the same name. An 'old' ish chap, not a kid playing games, claimed earlier his 'source' said he was down for a medical today. Paul Ince by coincidence was also at the club today and confirmed by Jonny Fordham. FB might not be right, but he's had a few things right in the recent past, to his credit. If Ince has been down then we're obviously talking terms.

Thats promising! Medicals are typically done last right? After wages and fees are agreed.

RFCSPACE
2 world wars, 1 world cup
If we stay up we get £80million straight up from SKY
Plus another £20mill from sponsor deal
Plus £25mill from the FA
Add to that the approximate figure if £30mill from other income and you're talking
A TOTAL OF £190MILLION AT LEAST

I didn't realise buying Tom Ince would guarantee us safety and £190M in the bank, oh wait, it doesn't.

A club like Reading cannot survive paying silly wages, especially in the Championship, given how low our income is. This £8M we're potentially about to spunk on a talent unproven in the PL could pay the wages of our key players in the current squad for next season if we were to get relegated. For my money, having the majority of our current squad is a stronger position to be in than have to sell half our current squad to facilitate an £8M 'star' player that, hypothetically, didn't add a great deal to the squad because we still got relegated.

Don't get me wrong, he probably would do well for us and £8M is hardly the be all and end all, but given how prudent we've always been, this seems a bit reckless.

Yes I meant it in all seriousness that staying in the prem would get us £190million because those figures are accurate and add up to exactly 190mill.

No whoosh due at all.

(largely agree with your post tho)

Common misconception.

These days medicals are actually done first, even before an enquiry to make sure the player is worth enquiring about.

I would have thought so. Ince being down means were talking terms and what we can offer the lad, so it's all positive for now.

Also told Paul Ince has met with #readingfc over the past 24hours - that one looking like it will go to the wire

Not sure we need him, unless it's a coaching role?

I doubt Ince would have wasted his time speaking to us if he thought that to be fair. My only concern is if we go down there's either a clause to sell him, or we get one season before Daddy tells him to dig his heels in and get another move.
