Adam Le Fondre - Article by a Miller

Rotherham fan in peace.

Been keeping an eye out for your results for last 15 months since the goal scoring machine Alfie joined you for £300k. What a bargain you got there eh?

Anyway, after his rather impressive goalscoring form I decided to do an article on him. Alfie himself likes it as he retweeted the link on twitter!

Feel free to check it out to see that not all football fans are mesmorised by the multi-million pound superstar strikers and that scoring records speak louder than pound notes.

Good job of that, mate.
Does anyone know what the story is about the number 39 shirt ?

Alot of penalties in that sequence.

Some cracking finishes too.

Rubbish!

Everyone knows you have to spend at least £10m to get a decent striker  You will be telling us next that ALF is, in fact, Jimmy Kebes love child.

If this is the case and Jimmy is God then Alf is Jimmys son

A pre-season friendly at the NY Stadium would be a good way of giving RUFC some of the additional cash they should have got when Alfie came to Berkshire. £300,000 is a little embarassing.

BTW, how do you Millers pronounce his surname? We have a local radio commentator down here who alternates between calling him Le FondRAY and Le FondREE whereas the rest of us call him Le FondRU.

Rumpole I've always taken the 'dre' as a completely unstressed syllable

Yes - a schwa at the end for me.

It says "his goals were a vital part of Reading securing promotion to the premiership for the first time in many years".

His goals were vital but we were in he Premier league in 2008. Not that long ago. But good article nonetheless.

Didn't they get another £350,0000 when we get promoted?

Sorry - that's exactly what I intended and had only used capitals to stress the alternatives. I am sure that 99% of us pronounce it the correct way and it's just Dellor (and to a lesser extent Gooding) who get it wrong.

Anyone like to volunteer to put Dellor right?

Yes, I am sure that the tiny gate such an unappealing friendly fixture would make would really make the difference.

ALF appearing would guarantee a reasonable home crowd and it would be a new stadium for many travelling Royals and not too far.

He said a few weeks back he'd been picked up on it loads of times, so had asked the man himself... who had seemed to basically imply that anything was fine.
