hiram holliday Is this post a laugh? I've only been to Reading a few times this year, (admittingly in the North Stand) but as a football fan of over 40 years I don't think I've ever heard such a pathetic sound as that made by Reading fans. In the last 3 home games (Chelsea, West Ham, Swansea) I attended, Reading fans were drowned out comprehensively by the away fans, both in volume and in choice of song. All Reading fans seem to be capable of doing is banging a drum and singing Reading, Reading. Never any variation.

As the chap on the pitch says, 'Come on you Blues - Make some noise'

Go to away games.
Atmosphere much better.

(Except CheLOLsea at home when I went mental)

If we could just chant for even a minute without it becoming ridiculously fast that'd be nice.........

Why oh why do we do that?

Girl I want to make you sweat
Sweat till you can't sweat no more
And if you cry out
I'm gonna push it some, mo-o-ore
Girl I want to make you sweat
Sweat till you can't sweat no more
And if you cry out
I'm gonna push it
Push it, push it some more

This is my quest
To follow that star
No matter how hopeless
No matter how far

To be willing to give
When there's no more to give
To be willing to die
So that honour and justice may live

And I know if I'll only be true
To this glorious quest
That my heart will lie peaceful and calm
When I'm laid to my rest

Platypuss
CentiaRoyal When the Pog doesn't score,
And we're needing one more,
It's Le Fondre.

Change the one to two and that's a winner IMO.

One or two would still be a winner for me

What's the opening line of Molly Malone? Was trying to teach my son the words this morning and know everything but how it starts. We sit in LW stand so not that he'll be singing it much at the stadium but he likes singing at home!!!

Ah thanks... I knew they were the proper words but wondered if we changed it a bit. Can't always hear everything that clearly all the way over in LW :)

Already been singing it, but thing we need to bastardise the words a bit:

Give us Hope, McDermott,
Give us Hope, McDermott
Give us Hope, McDermott
Then the goals will come

Give us Hope McDermott
Hope McDermott
Hope McDermott
then the game is won

Fair enough you're trying to get the modern day fans to sing but why does every song now have to be to that melody. What exactly is wrong with a good ol' rousing chorus of

"The Royals are staying up..."

Was really surprised that wasn't given an airing on Saturday, if not during then after the game

Isn't it time we had one for Anton after what he has done for the club.

Anton Zingarevich (repeat) to the tune of "La Done e mobile" from Verdi's Rigoletto www.youtube.com/watch?v=8A3zetSuYRg

Or for the very few non-Opera buffs on here, the tune to the legendary "you've got di Canio, but we've nicked your stero""
