Anton bought the club for £40 or is £50 million... He is sucking his investment back out bit by bit so it won't be a bad return in two years for Anton, a football club for naff all.

Just to clarify these figures, TSI are buying 51% of the club for £12.7m, with an option to buy the other 49% for £12.3m. I have heard that this includes an extra "£5M bonus for promotion".

The £40M sale price which was initially mentioned in early interviews by Sir John Madejski was later corrected down to £25m by overseas-tax avoidance specialist Chris Samuelson.

And in his interview AZ said he is still on track to buy the rest in September.

Its nice to see the gradual improvement in terms of we are not going out all guns blazing. We could of done that in January probably but we didn't and now we are starting to see rewards for it.

I think if we are looking at the stadium expansion in the next 2-3 years, its not going to be worthwhile unless we can fill up those seats. With the exception of the top 4 matches at the Mad Stad which we will sell out no problem, I think we also need to buy a couple of big/bigger recognized names that people would pay to see. Not only would it fill up seats for those Reading vs Norwich games etc you would probably see a sharp increase in shirt sales too.

Not saying for one minute lets do a QPR. I think we have the foundations there I think if we stay up unlike last time where 2/3 additions simply wasn't enough. If we get 2 quality signings perhaps Gylfi if things don't work out at Spurs and possibly another attacking player of that level, we will be in for a very good future as a club.

The next season (if we stay up) will be a crucial one that I think could define our next 5 years or so as a club.

At the moment, occasional visitors know that it's hard to get tickets for games, particularly to sit with people. And they tend to have to buy well in advance. Increase capacity and I think you'll see an increase of a couple of thousand as it becomes much easier to get tickets together and at short notice for casual visitors.

But aside from that, and the confirmation that McDermott thought it was going through until the afternoon, and confirmation from the BBC that Spurs thought they had Damaio (sp?) until about 5/6pm adds further weight to that. Plus the odd thing here and there others have picked up.

It's all a complete fallacy, just to appease the fans, The Royals Post podcast summed that up talking about the stupidity of our fans - no club would do that. As Anton said too.

Summer will be all about building for the future, and re-assessing in January with the funds being available if we need to strengthen.

I'd rather he did his talking now for our fans when the rest of the footballing world isn't paying attention / will have forgotten by June. Than doing it in June so every other club goes... "oh-ho, Reading have lots of cash, lets just roll that first digit up another one or two, we know they're going to splash the cash."

All of these plans and the work gone into them already, as well as actually implementing them, costs the club an awful lot. Just makes you laugh at those who keep asking where the money is. The squad didn't get as much investment as we needed, and the manager and owner have admitted as much - a lesson learned; but we still spent a considerable amount inclusive of wages, record agent fees etc, and God knows how much spent behind the scenes already on improving our facilities at the training ground, as well as for the aforementioned plans for the club.

This club continues to grow off and on the pitch. I for one am extremely happy with our progress. I just hope we can stay up and see the plans come to fruition. These are very exciting times to be a Reading supporter.
