Look whose game was postponed yesterday, the only oxf*rd one in the division? Pitch inspection at 09:30, on a sunny, dry day, apparently 20% of pitch was unplayable. Every other game in area played, even Arlesey, 7 miles away. It's a conspiracy, I tell thee!

How many 'home' games have Slough had called off? Cannot help having to ground share in a season when the weather has been poor.

20% not playable is not playable!

1 - Biggleswade, when it snowed.

So far, played 18 games, 12 of which have been at home.

Royalist 20% not playable is not playable!

Agreed, but why not have a pitch inspection closer to the time of the game? It's only an hour from Slough to Barton, so doing it at 12:00 would not have inconvenienced many.

FTR, I am sure that Barton's commercial types would have preferred that it had been played, as they'll get far fewer attending a Thursday night game than a Saturday afternoon, it just feels like it's happening quite regularly (plus it meant I had to go shopping instead of to the game!)

Here's a link to highlights of Badshot Lea 1 v 4 Windsor. 2 very soft sendings off are well highlighted but an excellent performance from Windsor. 2 finishes from No 10, Rob Lazarczuk that are very reminscent of Le Fondre. 1st time strikes with a real touch of class.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... dR7oP5hn6Y

Amazing turnaround since we played Badshot Lea last, when they beat us 6-2 at our place a few weeks after the old squad all left. Badshot Lea were riding high and looked a class outfit for this level and we looked pretty hapless.

Now they look a shambles, constantly arguing amongst themselves and basically outclassed by a Windsor team with two 17 year olds and an average age of < 21.

Anyway, tonight Windsor are at Binfield in the Berks & Bucks senior Tropht Qtr Final - looking forward to that - should be a good examination of our young team.

Binfield 0-2 Windsor

Excellent game of football.

Binfield hardly had a shot but certainly played their part - very little hoofing from either side.

Windsor really looked up for it, never stopped running and kept the pressure on Binfield throughout the game.

We are getting caught offside too often but when we learn that little art we will be pretty awesome. (That's a very minor gripe though, as it is plain to see that we are developing into a very good team.)

I just hope we can keep them together for next season.

FA Trophy leg being shown on tv. Sometimes watch the welsh football at 3pm on a Saturday when i can't get to a game. Has scores up as a vidiprinter for other games, although you sometimes have to guess what the welsh name for a place is!

Would be great if a more mainstream broadcaster, say BTsport, increased non league coverage. Don't think it'd hold up to weekly games but fa trophy or early round FA Cup without it being a novelty like the ESPN/budwiser thing would be cool.

Michael Butcher recently left manager's job at Reading Town and joined coaching staff at Windsor.

With Alan Paris still involved that's a decent set up.

I see Maidenhead have the begging cap out for a 500 seater stand.

Is it really needed? Averaging just over 300. Does the club really have ambitions of playing conference premier football otherwise it just seems a vanity project! I remember Leyton FC building a very impressive stand behind a goal fully seated when they averaged 50 fans!

Not linking what the Leyton chairman was up to and Maidenhead at all by the way!

...today's results - quite a few late AM postponements.

Saturday 9th Feb 2013

FA Carlsberg Vase – 4th Round
4 Tunbridge Wells 1-0 Dunston UTS – holders go out - Tunbridge W. now travel to Larkhall (nr Bath) next w/e, for their delayed 5th round tie
16 Walsall Wood PP Hanworth Villa - for the 3rd time of asking - FA ruled tie will be switched to Hanworth Villa and played next w/e (16th Feb) : winners of that face a trip to Runcorn Town probably on the 23rd
FA Carlsberg Vase – 5th Round
1 Spennymoor Town 4-2 Bemerton Heath Harlequins - home side were short odds on favourites on Thursday when I last found them - I think Guernsey were 2nd priced - Ascot were fairly long odds (33's ish) with Tunbridge Wells longest price at 66 - but that will be re-drawn after today's ties that were completed and of course after the draw for the 1/4s on Monday.
2 Newport (IW) PP Ascot United – very veeery late p’ponement  - will try again next Saturday. Yellamen due to host Binfield midweek but I'm told the forecast is for more very wintry conditions :( - so they may welcome a postponement in advance of their Vase match; though might miss the chance of taking on a 'Moles' side at a bit of a low ebb?
3 Spalding United 1-3 Guernsey – three goals in 7’ after H/T?
4 Brantham Athletic 1-4 Shildon
5 Ampthill Town 1-2 Hadleigh United
8 Bodmin Town 0-1 Gornal Athletic

CONFS
AFC Hornchurch 1-1 Sutton Utd
Boreham Wood 0-0 Bath City
Bromley 1-2 Basingstoke
Dorchester 2-1 Salisbury
Dover 3-2 Welling
Eastbourne Borough 0-2 Weston-S-Mare
Farnborough 1-1 Havant and W
Hayes & Yeading 1-2 Truro City
Maidenhead Utd 3-2 Billericay - winner in injury time
Staines Town 1-3 Eastleigh
Tonbridge Angels 0-4 Chelmsford

SOUTHP
Chesham United 1-1 Stourbridge
SOUTH1C
Ashford Town (Middx) 1-1 Chalfont St. Peter
Aylesbury PP North Greenford United
Burnham 0-0 Beaconsfield SYCOB
Daventry Town PP Thatcham Town
Fleet Town 5-0 Woodford United
Godalming Town 1-0 Biggleswade Town
Leighton Town 0-6 Guildford City
Rugby Town 2-1 Chertsey Town
Slough Town 2-1 AFC Hayes
Uxbridge 0-2 Royston Town
SOUTH1S&W
Abingdon United PP Merthyr Town
Paulton Rovers 0-2 Hungerford Town
Taunton Town 1-5 Didcot Town - four wins in a row for the Railwaymen and 17 goals scored. Now soaring up to 8th place. H v Shortwood on Tue night 8)

CCLP
Bedfont Sports 0-3 Badshot Lea
Chessington & Hook United PP Egham Town
Colliers Wood United 1-3 Ash United
(at Ash United FC)
Dorking 0-2 Hartley Wintney
Farnham Town 1-3 Camberley Town
Horley Town 3-0 Croydon
Molesey 0-2 Wembley
South Park 4-2 Raynes Park Vale
Windsor 3-3 Cove - was surprised by the result at first ... but actually Cove are having a very good 12-13 and are not far off the leaders themselves back in 5th. Finished mid-table last season after an horrendous spell which contributed mostly, to them conceding over 100 goals - plenty of 7's and 6's against (aggregate 1-14 v Windsor) - only Banstead who were last and relegated had a leakier defence.
CCL1
AFC Croydon Athletic 0-1 Feltham
Farleigh Rovers PP Cobham
Frimley Green 3-0 Knaphill
Mole Valley SCR 2-2 Epsom Athletic
Sheerwater 0-0 Banstead Athletic
South Kilburn 2-1 CB Hounslow United
Westfield 0-2 Staines Lammas
Worcester Park 4-4 Eversley & California

HELLP
Abingdon Town PP Slimbridge
Binfield 1-3 Ardley United – att 44 unusually low attendance here for 3rd v 2nd :?:
Highworth Town PP Wantage Town
Kidlington PP Holyport
Oxford City Nomads PP Flackwell Heath
Reading Town 4-1 Highmoor Ibis
Shri venham PP Thame United
Wokingham & Emmbrook 3-3 Marlow
HELL1W
Lambourn Sports 0-5 Clanfield
Letcombe 4-4 Old Woodstock Town
.... braved some awful weather west of Newbury on the M4 - but it eased north of Sw!ndon and we got to: Fairford 6-1 Purton - pitch was a bit of a swamp and the lowly visitors actually took the lead but were incapable of defending sensibly. At least three goals were as the result of keeper and back-four fannying around with the ball on the edge of their box and losing possession on a dodgy surface.
HELL1E
Chinnor 9-2 Milton United
Didcot Town Res 0-1 Chalfont Wasps

Quarter Final Draw made for the FA Vase today as follows:

Runcorn Town or Walsall Wood or Hanworth Villa v Guernsey
- so remote possibility of CCL v CCL Q-F :? (Walsall Wood are 'only' STEP06) but Runcorn have one of the highest Points Per Game ratio of sides left in the competition - actually 3rd best behind Spennymoor & Guernsey.)

Shildon v Newport (IoW) or Ascot United - assuming the 'Yellamen' can overcome the odds and get past Newport, they face a long trip to Shildon (nr Bishop Auckland) from the Northern League (11th in the same League as Spennymoor who are 2nd and unbeaten behind 'Darlington 1883')

Spennymoor Town v Gornal Athletic

Larkhall Athletic or Tunbridge Wells v Hadleigh United

...Ties are scheduled to be played on 2nd March but that's only if the weather doesn't royally f£ck it up again - particularly the first tie above with its 'either or either or' pokery!

Just trying to improve the facilities and attract a few more fans throught the gate. Have you seen the current 'stand'? Its awful and puts people who want to sit down off attending games. Not really had a Massive crime is it, simply trying to progress as a club.
