I often wonder if the club employs someone with a little chamois to shine his head whenever it starts looking less majestic than usual. If not, I'd like to volunteer for this job.
I could also wipe his glasses when they get a bit misty during a rainy game.

Whatever happens this season he has been bloody brilliant for us and I hope he continues to be brilliant for us for many more years.

Approaching the 2 mile mark in last year’s Reading half marathon, I spotted and already tired Brian (I think he went off too quick) and moved to overtake him. Patting him lightly on the back as I did so, I said “nearly there, Brian”, to which he responded “ha! yeeaaahhh!”

Looking back now I realise that he was probably thinking “fcuk off, you’re the 15th person who has said that, and don’t touch me”, but he didn’t, he was chirpy, it cheered me up, and I’d like to salute this brilliant man for that moment alone.
