cmonurz Approaching the 2 mile mark in last year’s Reading half marathon, I spotted and already tired Brian (I think he went off too quick) and moved to overtake him. Patting him lightly on the back as I did so, I said “nearly there, Brian”, to which he responded “ha! yeeaaahhh!”
Looking back now I realise that he was probably thinking “fcuk off, you’re the 15th person who has said that, and don’t touch me”, but he didn’t, he was chirpy, it cheered me up, and I’d like to salute this brilliant man for that moment alone.
Probably should have said "Starting badly again Brian? I look forward to seeing another sprint finish back up through the crowd"
Love the guy, he's a thoroughly brilliant chap from all I can see.

He does seem to be a genuinely lovely man. And he looked really upset after one particular game - I think he takes every result personally. I love his big baldy head.

I agree with all the previous comments. A truly great man, excellent manager for Reading long may he continue to drive our club to the top.
Remember when this was a thing?
One of football's nicest guys, but sadly it's one of his downfalls.
