Hmm Wigan is always a difficult game. They have annoyed me for years. Almost every time that I remember seeing them either at Elm Park or the Mad stad (with the exception of the play off semi-final we won) they usually do us in awfully drab games. They are the party poopers in chief. Thinking that we will stuff them is dangerous and thinking that they are bound to go down is too. I say back Wigan to win!!

Think we need Akpan to play with Kebe fit too. I do hope that Jimmy has not fallen over in the bath again and is going to take another month off!! We have HUGE games coming up now. BM is as usual playing the game down but we all know that teams that stay up do not drop points to teams that are in around them at home!! We all know what will happen if we do not get a significant points tally out of Wigan, Villa, Saints and QPR at home (probably 10 points min).

I think that we should play 4-5-1 against Wigan as they will pass us to death, We must start fast and will probably need our best performance of the season to win. I expect Wigan will bring 3 men and 5 pies down with them so we will have to make all the noise.

Anyway, Wigan to annoy again...

Big game. A loss would make that sinking feeling grow a little stronger. A win and we'd be rocking again.
A draw seems likely though. 1-1

1-3. We always score, but I think we will be too open and Wigan will pass round us with some quick counter attacking football. I'd prefer 4-5-1 with the usual ALF 25 minute scoring cameo than to start 4-4-2 and find ourselves with a mountain to climb.

We go 1-0 down - ALF comes on with 10 mins to go, sets up the Pog for an equalizer in the 86th and then he wins a pen in stoppage time - Harte misses it but ALF sweeps in the rebound, cue pitch invasion, horses on the pitch etc.

Pepe the Horseman Would you pcunts be happyish with a draw, or is it a must, must win?

We're not definitely down if we draw or lose. But our chances of survival do take a big ol' tumble. I'll be peeved at anything less than a win, although a heroic come back to draw will obviously make a draw feel less bad and more like a win.

I believe this will be a tougher game than Villa, Wigan are a better team than both us and Villa however they lack the bite the end product which is why I think one of us or villa will survive at their expense. I think best tactic today is keep hitting them on the break and let their nerves creep in but defend well. Midfield battles are crucial today. I think 2-0 another late rally but toothless Wigan to batter us at the back but not find a way through.

2-1 all second half goals, throw in a bit of scarf waving to 'create atmosphere' and a few rounds of "5 Parkinson's" to wish him well for tomorrow.
