Instead of playing Hunt, McD should start HRK behind Le Fondre instead.

4-4-2 will surely work better than it did earlier in the season. The players have adjusted to a certain extent (some of them) and the defence has improved now that we dont have the likes of Gorkss and Gunter playing, the FA Cup game against United proved this. But today's performance didnt, get Pearce back in ASAP.

I spend every game feeling sorry for this guy as ball after high ball is sent flying over the top over his head, leaving him the opportunity to do little more than get his head on it and knock it forwards to no one or miss it and lose possession a split second sooner.

In 20 years of watching, I've never seen us leave a striker as isolated as we do The Pog. Let's be honest, if he did lash out today, it's small wonder that he's grown impatient. He gets no service from midfield and doesn't seem to be the player that thrives when high up against 4 defenders on his own. Who does?

I keep thinking about the header he scored against Chelsea and I strongly believe that given a half chance he'd do something positive, but he's constantly left in an area of the pitch with 30 yards to go and no one else in a Reading shirt who looks remotely interested in getting beyond him. I'm afraid to say its Brians fault.

Appeal it. Last year Leeds' Michael Brown broke Jem's ankle with a far dirtier tackle than what Pog did today and didn't even get a yellow. No way Pog should be out 3 games with some of the stuff going on in these games where players aren't even booked. Maybe if we appeal, even if we lose the appeal, we'll have him for the Villa game at least and lose him for Man Utd and Arsenal both away, games which we have little hope of getting results in.

It's difficult to argue against this. Regardless of the quality players/managers I can't think of a single player who could make a game for himself out of the scraps he gets.

I am a man of few words but this suns up the Pog's situation perfectly. How, with a 5 man midfield we can not get someone to get closer to him is beyond me?? Give the ball to him at his feet and he is looking for someone to be pushing on, Mcanuff might want to join in at some point??????????????? Shit tactics and a manager out of his depth??????????????

to be fair he was probably told something along the same lines as guthrie was. but since it looks as though we will be without him for a few matches id rather have blackman up front with alfie than hunt. hunt is completely useless. actually i retract that, HRK slightly behind alfie would be my most preferable option. im still not sure why HRK cant get a game in when he has produced spectacular goals and outperformed all of our wingers except kebe.

I'd like to see Alf up top on his own. His movement is great and it might actually force us to pass the ball to each other as opposed to just lumping it.
