Wimb Terminal Boardom The only players in recent memory who have successfully gone on to better things are:
Neil Webb
Kerry Dixon
Shaka Hislop
Terry Hurlock
Feel free to add to the list but there are many, many more who have not kicked on since leaving us.
Keith Curle? Decent career at the top level including being the highest priced British defender at the time when he moved for 2.5mil to Citeh.
Torn on Sidwell, I'd lean on the side of better things for playing in the Champions League and maintaining a role in Premiership sides for 6 years after leaving.
Sidwell might have played in the Champions League, but not for very long. I mean, Sigurdsson has played in the Europa League, and the Bundesliga and Premier League.
I think at least until he joined Fulham, he hadn't gone onto better things at all. Dropped at Chelsea, dropped at Villa, and even at Fulham he hasn't held down a place in the same way he had at Reading.
I would suggest Shane Long and Kevin Doyle, though Doyle has been relegated now ofc. Can we count the likes of Charlie Austin, Connor Wickham, Scott Golbourne and Darius Henderson? Henderson and Wickham have played in the Premier League, even though they left when we were a Championship club. Austin will probably play in the Premier League too. Marcus Hahnemann was first choice for Wolves for about 18 months.
