Streaming on tablet

by LightwaterRoyal » 04 Mar 2013 11:59

Considering getting a tablet to watch the streams on a Saturday. How does it compare to the computer? And can anyone recomend a good model for not too much money?

Tried to watch Spurs - Arsenal through FirstRowSports on my sisters Samsung yesterday and had to go through a load of hassle getting Flash only for it to load slower than Ian Harte runs.

Be careful with andorid and samsung. For some reason they are being left behind by the likes of Adobe and Sky. I bought a galaxy tab2 10.1 for my son for Christmas only to find out that adobe do not support android with flash any more, you have to download an old version at the moment. Also Sky do not support the bigger tab. They've only just starting supporting the 7.0 version so sky go isn't available. Ipad seems to get priority as they probably pay more.

Risky one if you're planning on going down the Android/Samsung route as said before as Android doesn't support flash .... Probably not worth your while if that is the main purpose of the tablet you are planning on purchasing.

Wondering if its even worth it, if we get relegated I will be able to watch about 5 league games next season if I'm lucky.

I downloaded Flash on my sisters Samsung and logged into firstrow yesterday, the video loaded but it spent too much time buffering and then just got stuck after a few seconds. The only good thing was it froze on Gylfi's lovely head.

But surely the buffering is because the bandwidth of your internet is too slow?? Get a faster broadband and no buffering, doesn't matter what hardware your using.

I have an iPad and I detest apple with a passion. The biggest reason is that it doesn't support flash, and that was the main thing android has over iOS.

Still I may jump ship as although it's impossible even with a jailbroken iPad it's actually apparently possible to install flash on an android. So do a bit of research and you'll see how. But with apple, forget it.

We only get about 4 mbps here on the Costa Blanca.

I installed flash on my sisters Samsung but its not really meant for it. It loaded the syream but I could hardly watch before it started freezing, but its fine on the PC.

I do like the idea of tablets more than laptops but if there isnt a bit of kit capable Ill have a look. Thing is my brothers LG phone can stream football with almost no hassle. Screens a bit small mind.

Adobe are stopping mobile flash altogether and have started with android. I stream on a Nexus 7 and had to download flash from a third party site.

If you're wondering how to get flash on android just search 'flash apk' on google from the tablet, and you can download and install that.

The iPad does not support Flash at all. Streaming is a real problem.

Streaming on an ipad works if you use the puffin browser app mentioned above.

Holy shit! That puffin thing actually works and works very well! Everyone who has an iPad should get it! Ive tried a lot of flash browsers but theyve never coped with streaming football or watching films. The puffin one does both and well!

So in answer to the OP, get an iPad and that download.
