Aston Villa (H) Predictions

by The Real Sandhurst Royal » 05 Mar 2013 08:19

A big game for both the Royals and Villa this weekend.

A 2-1 home win would be very nice.

I think we will see Kebe, Roberts and Guthrie all back in the team and each will score 3-0 to the Royals.

How can Roberts play when he has not trained!
I predict a 1-1 draw very tense

Delph is actually a big loss for them. Very mobile, covers a lot of ground and uses the ball fairly well.

This rests on a few things for me:
- Can we keep Benteke under some sort of control?
- Is Kebe going to be fit?
- Will any of the Villa back six (including to CMs) make any howlers as they are prone to
- Will he pick Guthrie?

I would really fear for us if we concede first. And we have to prove that we can deliver a good performance in a crunch game at home. Sure WHU and Saints being away at the end of last year helped us.

Head says 1-3 with Benteke getting at least one.
Heart says 2-1 with Hunt or Blackman (or Guthrie if 4-5-1) having to play well.

Reading 0 Villa 3, another Fulham like bottle job.

Then Brian still claiming we can escape the drop.

I think we'll have to keep N'Zogbia quiet, he has played well for Villa in their last couple of games. Weimann carries an obvious threat as the man in the hole behind Benteke. I think that McD will favour a 4-5-1 and try and catch Villa on the counter attack. If so, I think we can nick this, 1-0.
My prefered line-up:

Feds
Kelly
Pearce
Marriappa
Shorey
Kebe (if fit, if not McCleary)
Legs
Akpan
Guthrie
McAnuff
HRK (as the lone front man)

7-0, Akpan, Kelly, McAnuff, Kebe, Karacan, Harte, Le Fondre
A great all round team performance, and the Royals are on the road to safety.

It was only an individual mistake that cost them last night, which was similar to us at Man CIty.

Not much between the teams, except...

Reading 0 - 2 VIlla (Benteke, Benteke)

Watched Villa last night and I really do think we we lose on saturday.
They are developing into very good passing side and we never do well against those.
They also have a aerial threat in Benteke, something we do not have and a creative player in Nzogbia both of whom would walk into our side.

If we do lose this game then we have no right to be in the PL next season at the expense of Wigan
or Villa both of whom will have beaten us twice in the season and both play better more modern football than Reading

I genuinely think I want Villa to go down more than I want us to stay up.

For that reason I will be cheering* us on more than ever

Pretty much spot on except change 'poor' for 'consistantly useless, hopeless and abysmal'
