Which division do you want us in next season?

by soggy biscuit » 05 Mar 2013 13:53

Heard a whisper that some would prefer us to go down with cheaper tickets and a more competitive division being the primary reason where as staying up would likely mean a price hike on tickets and us battling relegation again.

Which would you prefer?

Not that I've particularly enjoyed it but staying up with the money we've spent and the signings we've made would be a monumental achievement, so that.

After mincing about in the lower divisions for 135 years we shouldn't be so blase' about our st8us, but tb-absolutely-h: Millwall away > Arsenal away.

I want to see us play in the highest division so it has to be the premier league. Yes it will be tough and we'll be favourites to go down but I believe staying up with help the club go from strength to strength hopefully establish ourselves at this level.

Anyone that says they prefer the Championship is a fool, regardless of how embarrassing we are in the Premier League.

Agreed. I don't think we've been embarrassing though.

Although you still want to see your team performing at the highest level.

I tend to be in the 'I prefer the Championship' group, it is more fun, and I enjoy us being competitive and challenging, but I still want to see us retaining and establishing Premier League status.

There's nowt wrong with the championship as far as enjoyment goes but this is a trick question right?

For those living abroad (Scotland) watching games locally would mean League 1 (Carlisie). I think I prefer to watch games on the web and you only get a few in Championship.

Daft question really, given that the enjoyment of the Championship comes from the quest to be in the PL the following season.

Thing is, i used to like my Saturday evening sitting down to watch MOTD with a few beers but this season i've found myself switching it off/over just to avoid our game(s) and the analysis.

So although i do want us in the Premier League next season, i only want it if we can actually end up becoming a mid-table side and not one that battles relegation season after season

tbh I'd take relegation every other year if we could keep getting promoted from the Championship. Gr8 days.

In fact, let's finish 6th next season and win the play-offs.

Premier League for sure - four fewer games to suffer through.

Before Christmas, I'd resigned myself to the fact we were going down and I wasn't bothered about staying up. Now we've got a fighting chance I actually quite want to stay up, damn that decent January run......

I don't mind us playing in the championship because I like cheap games, old grounds and seeing us win.

But I don't really want to get relegated.

So if you could arrange a more dignified way of us dropping a division then I'm in.

Obviously I prefer my team in the highest division possible. But I suspect I'll enjoy more attend more and we may be better off in the long run in the championship next year. It seems unlikely that even if we do survive we'll magically solve our problems in the summer and be midtable next year. I think we may need to go down and come back up stronger to get there. Whether that relegation is now or in four years after hanging on by our fingernails.
