Handsome Man Should Gazza have been sent off in the Cup Final and should that Dutchmen have been sent off by Howard Webb in the World Cup final?

I'd say yes to both and yes here.

Very much this.

Rumpole He challenged for a high ball. It was a high foot at best.

Surprised at the red. Foot was high but defo didn't kick the other player

United robbed IMO. Referee has decided this game not Real Madrid

crying shame :D

Never a red IMHO but as a previous poster noted, not the sort of thing that usually goes against Utd at OT

Utd fans have their excuse now. And won't we just hear all about it for a long time.

Hell of a strike by the Ref for Madrid's first then.

Unfortunately i don't have a parallel universe to test what would have happened if Nani had still been on the pitch.

'greed great strike from Modric

Genuinely amazed how many of you think it's a sending off. There was no way it was violent conduct, a high foot absolutely, but there was absolutely no intent to injure Arbeloa (?)

I'm loving seeing United take one up the arse. Now they know how it feels for most of us who aren't big enough to get the decisions against them!

I agree, but united have to learn to live with bad decisions, they happen to every team except them it seems. especially at OT

Laughing too much to care tbh.

The inability of the united players, management, fans and the commentators to comprehend that they've been on the wrong end of a harsh decision at Old Trafford speaks volumes.

he appears to be looking at the guy after he took his eye off the ball, doubtful if he could withdraw his foot though.

I can barely be arsed to type this, but refs do not have to be mind-readers and gues the intent of a player anymore.

Anyway. Andy Townsend thought the red was harsh, therefore it was almost certainly correct.

United could have had a couple of penalties, but it was the Real goalie, and the piss-poor effort at closing out the game with 10 men that lost them this tie, not the ref.

Ferdinand will be lucky to get away with sarcastically applauding the referee right in his face

So bored of idiot referees ruining good football matches.

The sooner video technology is introduced to the game the better.
