Fezza He was at fault for the second goal today, as the first ball was played in he was picking his nose (fact) and let the first shot come in unopposed!

I thought he looked like he couldn't care less to be honest. He's got an over inflated ego and believes the club owe him. Mariappa is by far our best center back in this division.
Let him leave and do what Sonko etc did.
Next season we'll have a very good championship squad without Pearce;
GK: McCarthy (i assume we'll lose Feds)
RB: Kelly/ Cummings/ Gunter (one will leave)
LB: Harte/ Shorey/ Mills
CB: Mariappa
CB: Morrison
RM: HRK/ McCleary (assume we'll lose Kebe)
LM: McAnuff (i'm sure he'll stay)/Obita
CM: Akpan
CM: Legs/ Karacan
CF: Hunt (he'll never leave!)
CF: Blackman

We'll lose;
Feds, Pearce, Le Fondre, Kebe, Pogbrebnyak, Carrico at the very least. Still a very good squad to bounce back though

Why will we lose Kebe and Carrico?

I can understand some interest in the others, and perhaps Kebe, but Carrico?

I think you could add McCarthy to the list too. I still think he, along with Le Fondre are probably our most saleable assets.

With every game I come to the conclusion that Pearce is a lil overrated, and after watching match of the day only makes me think it even more. Mariappa is by far our best CB. Just watching MOTD and mariappa is pointing at Pearce where to go and he runs complete opposite direction, no where near the run of benteke

Pearce isnt even that good, but he was our most consistent player last season. He will go for sure, along with Le Fondre and McCarthy and possibly Kebe.
I would think Pog will go as well, maybe his contract will mean he is released, as we wont want to be paying those wages in the championship.

This is complete bullocks about him not caring and having an ego. I know what happened regarding his contract and I hope he comes out and tells everyone the truth behind it when he leaves, which he will. The club really have let us and him down.

Doubtful...

The events of Monday just confirm that the world of professional football is completely mercenary in its nature. So if anything it will convince any player who might have been thinking of remaining with the team for a little less money out of loyalty to head out the door and get as much as he can in the open market. Brian took less to stay out of loyalty and look how he was "rewarded" in the end.

He will have been paid off with more than I have earned in the last decade plus what my total pension pot is worth.
My heart bleeds for him.... really

The whole question of "is the money out of control in professional football?" is a question for another thread. Bottom line is he took less out of loyalty to Reading FC and this was how he was "thanked" for his loyalty. And don't think that won't be lost on the players...every single one of them will be looking for top wages or they will be out the door. And after the way Brian was treated I wouldn't blame them one bit for telling the club and the fans "oxf*rd off...I am only here for the money and if you don't pay me I'm gone".
