Fans' Verdict - Di Canio?

by Royal Lady » 11 Mar 2013 19:07

As AZ obviously appears to listen to some of the fans (those booing on Saturday) and the club DO read this board - perhaps we should just have a yes/no vote as to whether you would like Di Canio as next manager - and, if the majority say no, perhaps the club/AZ will listen again....

Do I desperately want him? No.

Would he be a decent choice? Yes.

Would he get my support? Of course.

I voted no...his personal politics aside, I don't like quitters. And the way he up and quit at Swindon I don't want him anywhere near Reading FC.

I voted no purely on personality. He's too controversial for my liking and for Reading FC, but......if he was at the game on Saturday, then this one looks likely to be our next manager IMO

No - he's never managed a game beyond League One level.

At least if we got Adkins in he'd know how to get us up next season!

@royal lady. He's not racist, he's just an old fashioned eccentric italian. Racist is too vague a word here in the UK. If he was really racist, then he wouldn't have any black players playing for him.

Adkins would be my first choice, but if it's PDC I'll get on with the job of hoping we win the next game as usual.

Was all set for back-to-back promotions at Swindon, so clearly he knows what he's doing, BUT it's all that baggage, and his mental attitude. It would either work or blow up in our faces.

If it was a choice between him or Curbs, Hoddle etc, then Di Canio.

I want Adkins!!

Absolutely not. Personal politics aside i don't think he has the experience or nouse to offer anything to us. If we insist on getting a radge i'd rather have Keane. But i don't want him either. Leaning towards Adkins.

I don't know.

I'd rather Adkins, but if it's true he's disputing his loss of job at Southampton he isn't available.

I'm personally happy to ignore his political opinions here. Unless they impact on his management, which there was no evidence of at Swindon.

He got Swindon playing decent football without a massive squad overhaul, albeit at a lower level.

That means he's largely unproven, but to be fair he's more proven than Mcdermott when he took over.

"Passion" can oxf*rd off though. I miss Tenacity, Spirit and Flair a more accurate representation of what we need.

A lump of Russian money may sway his mind. Southamption probably will be very happy with that too

Di Canio is a loose cannon, idiot Swindon pr*ck. No, no, no and no, never. I will go berserk if he's appointed. Not the type of person we want at RFC.

Like I said on another thread...there are many similarities between Russian oligarchs and Italian fascists, namely being completely ruthless result oriented type of people, so don't be surprised if he sufficiently impressed AZ to have got the job.
