Big Ern It is going to be Di Canio. Will be confirmed tomorrow or Wednesday morning at the latest. 3 Year deal done and dusted.

U being serious?

Old school pal...was on Skype with him. He seems pretty certain of it. He gets most things right to be honest. Told me about Clyne to Southamoton before it happend and also that we had no chance with Zaha....although that didn't take a genius to work out.

Just a thought I really rated this chap at Fulham and now without a club, why not? He has a wide knowledge of good young players and has gone on after Fulham to manage some large and interesting clubs.

Worse ever managerial appointment in Readings history this will be.

Would rather we welcomed Steve Kean back to the club!

Really sorry to see Brian go, completely the wrong time IMO. I agree, victim of his own success, we overachieved last year, and he put too much faith in a sub-par squad, and failed to bring in the players we needed, and had we gone down with him in charge, this probably would have happened anyway. But I'm not sure what we were hoping for by removing him now (but I really, really hope that I will be forced to eat all of those words if we bring in a miracle worker.)

Would love it to be Di Matteo, but I just don't see him coming to manage in the championship next year. He'll get a bigger job with a team in Europe somewhere.

I'm not Adkins biggest fan, but he got Southampton playing, and got Scunthorpe overachieving while he was there, and I think he could do a good job here. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would also be a really interesting appointment, and a good chance for him to break into management in England. Having said that, he gets linked to every job that comes up over here, and I can't help but think he might just bide his time.

God forbid it's Di Canio, but I fear it could be. Or, maybe 1 + 1 = 3..... An upcoming coach from Galatasary, given our newly formed link with them?

No idea who it will be, but it will need to be an absolute miracle worker if we're going to stay up.

People really need to get the idea of us staying up out of their heads. Anton has done this with next season in mind of that I have no doubt. IF we stay up then bonus.

In a way i can see why the decision has been made, but at the same time I just think because Mcdermott is such a good manager at championship level perhaps we should have kept him so that if we were to go down, he'd be the first to bring us back up.

Maybe this decision has been made for the long term and it might be the correct one, who knows

Di Matteo talk all over twitter - I'd cream my pants if we got him

Maybe we could even win the champions league.

even if Di Canio kept us up and took us into Europe next season it would feel wrong and I would not feel part of it. Terrible direction for the club to take.

Also, Di Canio lost Swindon at least one sponsor - really can't see Waitrose/ John Lewis associating themselves with the Fascists.

Ole Gunnar for me.
