Ian Royal Be interesting to see what Dolan does seeing as his academy teams seem to try to play must more attractive passing football than the cloggy fare we've been serving up in the first team. Will we see a switch up or wil he stick to the same tired stuff?

It's his chance to stake a claim to the job and impress if he wants it.

Dont think he can change too much in such a small amount of time. And he can only play the type of football that our players are equipped to play, otherwise we have Brendan Rodgers all over again.

Our players are definitely capable of playing a better brand of football if put in the right combination with the right instructions. And a spirited fight with some decent periods of play would be an achievement against Utd, even if it still ends in a 2 goal defeat.

Huntley & Palmer
sandman We're going to get thumped anyway so it doesn't really matter which of our out of depth strikers play.

:| So rather than playing someone that cold potentially hold the ball up and link up play like Hunt or Blackman, we go into the game with an even larger handicap.

Let me explain this slowly We. Are. Playing. Manchester. United. And. Have. No. Chance.probably

Like the idea of HRK in the no. 10 role

Taylor
Kelly - Pearce - Mariappa - Shorey

McCleary - Guthrie - Akpan - McAnuff

The manager was sacked because we need a change to what has gone before, yet most of the team selections on here a largely exactly the same as previous matches, so what was the point. We need something more radical. I would go:

----------------------Whoever's fit-------------------
----------Mariappa-------------------Morrison------------
Kebe----------------- Karacan-------------------Blackman
--------------Guthrie------- ---Akpan--------------------
-------------------- ----HRK-------------------------------
------------Pearce-----------Le Fondre---------------

We'd lose, but then so will all the other team selections.

The scornmeisters on here would be creaming themselves

I thought HRK had a good game on Sat, so deserves a start. Kebe and McLeary are potential gamechangers if given the chance. Guthrie and Akpan to drive forward through midfield.

---------------------Feds------------------------

--Kelly---Pearce(C)-----Mariappa-----Harte--

-----------Guthrie-------Akpan-------------

--Kebe-------------HRK---------------Mcleary

---------------------Hunt------------------------

Subs: McAnuff (unless he's gone on strike), Shorey (if he's sober), L'Wood (if fit), Alf, Ugwe (must've got recalled for a reason)

Why would you start Carrico considering he hasn't even made a move from the bench since his woeful display against West Brom. Also, some of your subs have gone walkies.

Looks as if you still think we're in the 2011/12 Championship season.

Not going to bother naming an eleven because quite frankly with Brian going, I'm not sure who that now means is available for selection and fit (Feds, Carrico, Guthrie, Pearce, even bloody Roberts :D who knows??!!). What I am going to say is that if Dolan decides to try and add or re-introduce a passing element, although there won't be any miracles in five days, it could makes things interesting. Why not try runners from midfield instead of the same old plan? At least it would give the opposition something to think about for a chance, although as this is Man Utd we are talking about, there will be a few looks of curiosity and then they will swat us. But try something different for god sake, what do we have to lose?

Problem is Dolan isn't going to take the armband off Jobi so he will HAVE to play. Meaning more than likely McCleary or HRK will miss out!

Its like some unwritten rule in football you cannot drop your captain!

Jobi can put a shift in, but his downfall is he's fcuking useless; simply has one of the worst crosses I've ever seen from a winger.

For L,wood its impossible to put in a shift in as he can't move!

He barely touched the ball, it was poor when he did, and he was subbed at half time. It was pretty awful. He may turn out well, but he needs a couple of sub appearances before he starts a game again.

I would like to see some of the players who have not been used as much be given a chance (speaking of Guthrie and Carrico).

If everyone is healthy this is the team I would like to see against Man Utd;

---------------------Fed------------------------

--Kelly-----Pearce-----Mariappa-----Harte--

---------------Caricco-------Guthrie-------------

--Kebe-------------Akpan---------------McAnuff

---------------------Hunt---------------------------

It is very similar to RoyalDee's line-up except I would drop Guthrie deeper, as the "quarterback" role fits his game better than being higher up, and use Akpan, who has shown a good eye for making a pass at times in the final third, further up field.

And we should go 4-5-1 the rest of the way, home and away. Although all damn fine footballers (any player who makes it to even the Championship is considered an elite footballer in terms of ability) right now there is a gulf between the talent on our team and the talent on all of the other PL teams...reinforced by last Saturday's game with Villa (frankly they looked like Real Madrid against us). We need to play solid defensively first and foremost, try the best we can clog the midfield and try to get 1-0 wins or 1-1 draws if we can. Playing an attack oriented 4-4-2 with this squad is suicidal.
