blueroyals Definitely don't want Adkins. He'd get us playing nicer football but after spending £20m in the summer and end up no better than we are is a joke. We might be shit but at least it didn't cost us £20m.

Would like anybody that will get us playing nice football (apart from Adkins, did I mention that?). It didn't work under Rogers because he wasn't given the budget to bring in decent players. With Zingarevich's money we could be the next Swansea :!:

Shudder

Centre back passes to centre back, passes back to the keeper, to the centre back, to the defensive midfielder....continues for the next half an hour aaannndd they're over the half way line, oh wait they've gone back to the keeper.

Oh and Rodgers had money to work with.

Rev Algenon Stickleback H
TheSiege For us fans, RFC may have just turned a corner and may just start punching our weight - not before time!

what is "our weight"?

given the sort of income we'll generate next season, about mid-table in the championship looks to be about "our weight", as we certainly wouldn't be one of the bigger clubs in that division.

:| We did alright last season without parachute money.

Adkins or RDM though coppell could hold us together till may and then the new manager has the whole summer to sort it out and the board 9 weeks to appoint anyone but the facist from Swindon

Where where do we stand..

RDM not interested in the job, who can blame him. Champions League winning manager who will wait for a good job to come up in either England of italy.

Adkins, Hasnlt resolved his despute with Southampon, therefore this could rule him out

Curbishley, All gone a bit quiet on that front

Coppell, never going to happen.

Poyet, probably thinks he is better off staying at Brighton.

Di Canio not a popular choice, but starting to look like one of the most ikely candidates now.

"Its emerging that Reading did not have a successor lined-up when they sacked Brian McDermott on Monday , just 33 days after he won Premier League manager of the Month for January".

So with 9 games to go - 4 of which are Man Yoo, Arse, Liverpool and City -we are starting a search... :?

Dont want RDM. We dont have the wealth of talent Chelsea have
No issue with PDC as he will kick arse
Adkins is an easy option
CurbishLOLey? How long has he been out of the game?
Coppell? Will never happen and his reputation would be tarnished
Owen Coyle would be good even with his bolton links
Sven Goran Ericsson can oxf*rd right off as can Mark Hughes
Benitez could be a dark horse as he hates chelsea
Poyet would be a good shout
Colin purely for the lolz
Steve Bruce must be looking for a move soon
Roy Keane would create even funnier lolz
Bring back Mark McGhee and Colin Lee as an amazing double act

2 world wars, 1 world cup
LoyalRoyal22 Adkins would be perfect for it! That would be my choice anyway.

How much did he spend to bring success to soton?

Poor theory. How much did he spend at Scunthorpe? Anton would give him money anyway

It just so wouldn't surprise me if the above was true. I foresee the club being tyically quiet about possible candidates & what's happening, Eamonn Dolan being in charge until the end of the season, and then being announced as manager (whatever league we end up in) with the club saying he was the 'natural choice' as he knows the club and players inside out and how to do things the 'Reading way'.
Something strangely familiar about that........

Poyet won't come here now. Might of done at Xmas. I can seriously see the club making a move for Parky.

Anyone who doesn't think we should aspire to be a Swansea (at least in the short to medium term) is on copious amounts of drugs.

AZ won't want Parkinson, he knows nothing about him. Never understood the fascination that a legend as a player somehow makes them a managerial messiah.

Don't believe for a second the sacking was about "saving the season" so why would they?

It was because he lost the fans and Anton saw it.

We'll get a new manager in, who's remit won't be "save Reading at all costs" but "Do your best this season, but it's all about the long term plan, nice football please".

If you're making decisions based on what the fans think then you really are an idiot.
