Royal Ginger If Dolan can turn our team into a side that can beat United (assuming it wasn't some crazy accident e.g 3 own goals etc.), then i'd definitely keep him, so it's option 1 for me.

maffff IF Dolan can beat Man U would people here still want an established manager in for the next game?
I would.

RedRum Think it would given Anton a big headache. Any manager who can get his team to beat Man Utd at home is surely good enough for the job.

LoyalRoyalFan No, we want to lose 9-0 and watch the team disintegrate towards the Championship.
What a oxf*rd stupid question.

Jaytee If we even beat Man U 10 - 0, Dolan MUST NOT and CANNOT be the answer. We would be the laughing stock of any League. Di Canio is the only manager with any character in the list. The rest are far too boring and we have put up with boring long enough!!!

Caskeys Lovechild RDM - may be good - but nobody knows what he's like as a manager really - a few months in charge of chelsea winning a series of "one offs" is no indicator

Z175 I'm not too bothered about who the new manager is in the short term, its all about staying up. So of course.
Yet if we win 1-0, it'll be "for Brian", and just be the players demonstrating what a good team Brian had actually built from nothing, and mean we're set to do even worse without him, whereas if we get thrashed it'll be because "the players are on the floor" and we're unlikely to win again this season.
Maybe a morale boosting 0-0 will be best....

2 world wars, 1 world cup Ok, a fun post to change the record (slightly!)
Obviously we all want Reading to win but just for discussion's sake imagine the two scenarios.
1- we win, get all excited tha Dolan may be our man, lose out on Adkins and then stick with Dolan
2- we get slaughtered, board confirm we need a proven man and we go that extra mile to get Adkins/Curbs/your 1st choice manager
Only fun, don't need to flame me, but can if you wish! :p

^ probably a better question.
