Is telling someone to go back to their own country racist?!? Going by the dictionary definition I'd say no...?

I think the context matters a great deal.

You need to know what he was replying to. I think if someone was criticising Britain or British culture then, while crude, it isn't necessarily racist.

Gerrard Scanlon, 53, banned from all grounds for five years, and from Millwall for life, for racially abusing El Hadji Diouf.

Obviously proud of his actions.

Goalkeeper somewhere in the German lower divisions gets racially abused, tells the officials what is happening but they ignore him. takes matters into his own hands when he gets a bottle thrown at him

He is now banned from playing and has a hearing next month where it will be decided if he will ever be allowed to play again

Life ban would be a bit harsh, but I certainly think he should be banned fora good 8 months minimum.

The FA had not been notified of the complaint on Thursday night but admitted it was aware of the songs, with the chant “Build a bonfire, build a bonfire, put Rio on the top, put Anton in the middle, then burn the f------ lot”, believed to have been highlighted by the Fare as the most offensive

No, plus it's ancient. Brighton fans used to sing it about the chairman who sold the Goldstone and his lapdog (can't remember their names).
