I think people are forgetting how bad a decision it was to appoint someone who tried to change the style of football, Rodgers anybody?

Its going to take a few years to change the philosophy of our football, let alone return to the premier league next season!

Probably not anything in this obviously, as it's the Sun but:

EAMONN DOLAN is getting increasing support from Reading’s players to carry on as manager until the end of the season.
Dolan, 45, was the academy coach until Brian McDermott was sacked.

Paolo Di Canio, Roberto Di Matteo and Nigel Adkins have all been in the frame for the job.

But one player said: “Quite a few of us would be happy to see Dolan stay until the season ends.
“There’s an increasing chance of this happening but the way this club’s been recently, nothing can surprise us.”

Dolan says he does not expect to get the job full-time. But with the club looking set for relegation, owner Anton Zingarevich may wait until May before replacing him.

Dolan should take it to the end of the season, but a new manager should be appointed now but not take charge till seasons end
Doing this the new manager can evaluate the club and prepare for when he comes in

I can't believe those quotes about the players being happy if Dolan stayed until the end of the season, not because i have no faith in dolan but more because they appeared in the sun.

On Enrique, he tried to create poor man's barcelona at Roma, but for whatever reason it didn't work. If he came it would be a clear intention to try and create a long term project by Anton, I for one would be totally in favor.

I don't think for a minute that Enrique will come here, but I'm in the mood to talk and my gf has passed out in my lap and my beer is out of reach.

The passing game is already there in the academy, which makes it all the more strange that certain first team players use hoofball so much. Rodgers tried too much too soon with some players of limited ability.

Badger Finger

Please be Adkins....

But Adkins would get a budget and ambition at Leeds rather than the continuing make do and mend he'd get here

I expect Reading to really push the boat out and promote Dolan

It's the "READING WAY" how may time have I heard that.

We had an ideal chance to introduce more quality to the team at the start of this premier campaign. McDermott failed us being to loyal to the players who secured promotion.

You pay the price in the end!!.

youth games, played at low intensity, more of a training excersise etc

1st team play in the highest possible pressure, against some of the best teams and players in the world.

as a result, sometimes the first team players look up, cant find an easy pass and end up hoofing to the channels.
its no great mystery

Reading were one of the top three or four wage payers in the Championship the year we won the league. What makes you think we wont be able to complete with Leeds?
