I just used the bbc predictor for the rest of the seasons games. It yielded some shocking results, as below

15 Wigan 36pts
16 Reading 35
17 QPR 35
18 West Ham 34
19 Norwich 34
20 Sunderland 32

Very surprising and if that happened it would be unbelievable. Of course it seems pretty wishful but I wasn't actually being that unrealistic, I feel West Ham, Norwich and Sunderland will lose nearly all of their remaining games, while in my predictions Southampton ended on 43pts and Aston Villa on 40 as both should pick up 2 or 3 more wins before the end. I had us to beat Saints, QPR and Norwich (based previous performances this season, we will probably lose all 3) and also West Ham on the final day which I think we will win, it will probably be over by then but this has just showed me anything is still possible (Everton came 3rd as well).
Realistically,we will probably come bottom but there will certainly be some more twists yet so you never know. Like Dolan said if we win those important games we will stay up, so lets hope he does a better job than McD when it comes to playing well against and beating beatable opposition.

You guys should have a go too, would be interesting to see other peoples results, here is the link -

Its not just if we can win 5 or so of our games, its whether decisions go against us or not. With the amount of decisions we have had go against us I cannot help but think the luck of the draw must be on our side this time around lets hope!

We looked much more solid at the back and our football was looking much better than it has been the last few games even though we still lost. It is a slim chance but I believe there is still reason to have a bit of belief the best thing we as fans can do is to keep backing the boys every game right until the finish and see where it takes us.

I just did the predictor thingy. In my predictions, Reading - buoyed by the performance at Old Trafford, staged a remarkable turnaround. Coupled with very favourable results, Reading went into the final game safe from relegation. On the last day of the season, rivals West Ham were able to beat their nemesis, and their forum, Knees Up Mother Brown, went into meltdown. Kevin Nolan, West Ham's vile captain, gave all the Reading fans the bird, but he was outdone by Mr Angry who gave him the quadruple bird, very similar to his efforts at Stanford Bridge.

15 Reading 35
16 Southampton 35
17 Sunderland 33
18 Aston Villa 32
19 Wigan 31
20 QPR 28

Anything can happen.

I've got QPR / Wigan / Sunderland down - we stay up even if we lose at West Ham.

It's doable - I wasn't even that optimistic in the results and surprised myself that it came out as :

I think some of you have been smoking the funny stuff this afternoon.

However, if by some miracle we won 2 of the next 3, then 3 wins from the last 5 is possible as most of the teams we are playing should be safe then. 38 should be enough.

Realistically I don't see us winning 2 of the next 3 though and then we will be looking at winning virtually every game until the end of the season.

Looking at the remaining fixtures I would say QPR are down, Sunderland have a very hard run in and will do well to survive. That could leave the last remaining relegation place between Southampton (probably ok), Villa (have a hard run in), Wigan and us (who have similar run ins).

I can definitely see Sunderland going down. Their next game is v. Man U while Wigan are at home to Norwich. The gap could be one point after that. On the other hand, Villa only getting four more points appears very improbable. I'd pick Sunderland, QPR, and us to go down (note my ironic use of the "oxf*rd" comma.)

I just did the predictor again because it looked as though, somehow I must have been too unrealistic or unfair(even though I wasnt) and this time I got these results -

15 Norwich 36pts
16 West Ham 35
17 Reading 35
18 Wigan 34
19 Sunderland 33
20 QPR 32

So fcuk knows whats going to happen

But anyway, did the predictions and had us bottom on 28.
Seriously can't see where we get more than 5 more pts.

People are very negative on here. Reading can do a Wigan or Fulham. You do not have to play well, just score one more goal. Other teams can get unlucky and do a "Reading" (go 8 games without a win...).
As long as there is hope (or possibility), I will be a believer...

What is going to make it close is that there are a lot of games still to be played between teams at the bottom of the table.

I got:

Newcastle 38
Villa 38
Sunderland 35
QPR 33
Reading 33
Wigan 32

I think predicting Wigan to get 3 pounts from 9 games and Villa to get 4 from 8 might actually qualify as extremely optimistic.

I had Reading and QPR 4pts adrift of Wigan, Fulham and Sunderland on 37pts.

Somehow Southampton have finished 10th though which suggests I've been a bit kind on them..

15 Reading 35
16 Southampton 35
17 Sunderland 33
18 Aston Villa 32
19 Wigan 31
20 QPR 28

Anything can happen.

I'm no good at this shizzle, I always go too heavily expecting those at the top to win and those at the bottom to lose, so over a fair few games my predictions distort the table. This is never going to happen.

But I've got:
15 Norwich 37
16 Sunderland 36
17 Villa 36
18 West Ham 35
19 Reading 35
20 QPR 32

I put Wigan finishing 12th on 42  I think I may have fallen a little for the hype of their annual end of season survival.

PS we send West Ham down by beating them on the final day.

11 Reading 47
12 West Ham 45
13 Fulham 44
14 Norwich 44
15 Newcastle 40
16 Sunderland 34
17 Southampton 33
18 Aston Villa 32
19 Wigan 29
20 QPR 24

Maybe a little bias in that prediction

Yeah before Christmas I said I think (hope) we will beat West Ham on the final day to stay up (and hopefully send them down!), and in my first predictions funnily enough West Ham went down. It really would be a miracle, but it could still happen

We need at least 16 points to have a good chance.

Not going to happen
