USA_Loyal_Royal i was hoping to have a manager in place for the arsenal match but it doesnt look like that is going to happen. so now that it seems poyet is out and adkins wont come here who is going to be our manager?!?

Friday's Legacy I have mixed feelings on this. Both Poyet and Adkins are respected for their pleasing on the eye football, but one was going to cost us £2m in compensation, and the other is out of work and has a far more impressive CV. If given the choice, and considering we will almost certainly be in the Championship next season, it's Nigel Adkins for me all the way. Without taking a gamble, I can see no-one better qualified to take us back up.

winchester_royal Poyet was, realistically, always unlikely to take the position. Brighton and Reading are a similar size of club so no real reason to skip town when he's spent the last 3 years building something down there.
Can't blame Anton for having a chat with him though. I'd imagine they'd have known it was unlikely though and will make their move for Adkins tomorrow. Perhaps Adkins has always been their first choice and just wanted to talk to Poyet.
At the end of the day, nobody has a scooby doo about what's gone on over the last couple of days.

yuuichi Why the f*ck does everyone want Adkins. He's just a Brian Mcdermott with hair on his head. Yes, he will get us promoted, but we'll be in exactly the same position as we were this year: clueless! A guy who can't even speak english is a better manager than him!
Reading FC need a DICK (advocaat). Otherwise, we should have just kept mcdermott
