Silver Fox
andrew1957 Surely Glenn Hoddle is the only answer left now.

Christ, what was the question?!

There's a joke in there somewhere....

Maguire
winchester_royal Our next game isn't for another 8 days, and even then it's a game that is completely unwinnable

Let's hope the players have a better attitude than you

I'm sure they will, but they get paid considerably more than I do so I'll stay realistic if that's alright with you

Schards#2 The decision to sack Brian is looking more shambolic by the hour, and it looked pretty shambolic to start with.

No successor lined up and now, apparently, declined by our two main targets leaving an untried caretaker completely out of his depth in charge, probably to the end of the season at least. It is not hard to see why people draw comparisons with Wolves and I suspect we will follow their example by struggling to gain any more points this season. We would not have stayed up under Brian either by this is leaving us in a complete mess looking forward to next season too.

It's only March

Like I said...paranoia overdrive.

We just tried very hard to get our number 1 target, who (for reasons beyond our control) turned it down. Now we move on to our second choice. Our next game isn't for another 8 days, and even then it's a game that is completely unwinnable.

Meanwhile it's 5 months until the start of next season so I think we've still got plenty of time in that regard...

Chill the fook out guys.

8 days - plenty of time so that's OK then. If you can't see the similarities with Wolves last season then you are deluded. By getting rid of Brian without a cast iron Plan A and Plan B we've thrown this season away.

On a side note the dearth of actual talented managers who can manage at the Championship/PL level is quite surprising, especially British managers.

Of course there are similarities with Wolves, but that doesn't mean we're necessarily going to end up like them, and it's certainly not cause to reach for the pills just yet.

Agreed with your second point though, which is why I imagine we'll be looking outside of the UK atm. Failing that...Uwe Rosler's done a good job at Brentford.

Realistic is "it's a game that will be difficult yet not impossible to win"

Well if you want to engage in pedantry then yes you're right.

Still 8 days to go though, and most of the players are off with their national teams anyway.

Wolves also had a manager who had eventually reached his upper limit. Sacked him, then went down which was going to happen anyway. Sold their 2 best players and appointed a risky new manager who never stood a chance, there's no reason why they still wouldn't be in the same position they find themselves in now even if they'd kept McCarthy.

Has anyone thought that Fordham might not have all the correct info?

He's the only one saying Adkins is a no no at this point in time isn't he?

If that's dead, then I want Hoàng Văn Phúc, Caretaker of the current Vietnamese national side.

He's realllly good at pointing

If we are down as most of you say anyway, then I don't see the problem with having Dolan in charge for the rest of the season. Really liked him against Man U, think he did a good job.

It gives Dolan a month or so to install more of a passing influence on the side so we can re-evaluate in the summer, where more managers will likely take the job where there is no risk of an immediate relegation on their CV.

Dylan Kerr, what a player he was, remember he tore his knee ligaments one game and still tried to carry on playing.

I thought it was his groin? (after pretty much doing the splits in front of the South Bank)

Yeah may well have been his groin mate. It was about 5 foot from where I was standing. I loved the south bank.
