We were always going to go back to him after Poyet. Let's wait and see if Adkins is interested then. Leeds will be a big pull for him for next season.

Oh and Jonny Fordham's never wrong..

I'm unsure if this is an assumption based on him hearing we have been back in talks with Adkins, or he's actually ITK, but looking at his account he's just a family man and Reading fan, nothing points to him being a wind up.

@CalvinRFC1871
@vinty_boy #InTheKnow #RumourMill #readingfc They've been back in for him today so my spies tell me #Insider #Mole

No way - don't want that permatanned smug tosspot anywhere near Reading - M1 is that way Nigel, they'll love you up there!!

Divvy
Agent Balti
Ideal That's just a load of old cowdung, if we didn't have anyone ready to come in we should have waited until the end of the season before sacking the manager - that's if you're one of those people who actually think he needed sacking, which he didn't - it's mostly the newer/younger/idiot fans who think the manager needed sacking.

Sacking the manager in the midst of a relegation battle and then not appointing a new manager IS a balls up, how the oxf*rd do you expect it to make any difference in the relegation battle, except make it worse?!?

The definition of madness is doing the same thing over and over again when expecting a different result. That's what we did time and time again. All this 'Reading Time' when we scored heavily in the last few minutes of games wasn't some tactical master stroke - it was desperation! The standard of play was and is not Premier League standard...it just isn't. We looked much, much better when Eamonn promoted the tactic of 'pass the ball'. There was no confidence to carry this off and it was Man Utd we were up against...but the players did it, under instruction! What did they do beforehand? Play this long ball balls just 'because'...no, that was Brian's tactic (note: Tactic, not plural!) And that tactic was not good enough for this division. Not even close.

Brian had lost the players, lost a lot of the fans, made some truly bonkers decisions...and let's face facts, we have won just FIVE games all season. If you don't change anything, then no change can be made. You can't change the players at this point, there's very little else you can do but you can change the manager.

Yes, it is the last roll of the dice...but if Anton had no confidence in Brian, other than him being a 'lovely bloke' (and this is where a lot of the sentiment for Brian is 'twisted') then I can't blame him for giving it a shot to try and change it.

Top post!

I dunno about Adkins, but want him or not, it sounds like we need him more than he needs us. He's got us - and maybe Leeds - right where he wants us, and must be licking his chops, naming his price, etc.

Agent Balti Sorry, I can't believe that if the players were all total automaton droids that that they had NO opinion on whether that their manager was good enough or not.

If that were the case, then they would be pulling results out of the bag, regardless.

No they wouldn't.

If the players just aren't good enough then believing in the manager won't make them win.

Ideal I see the pcunts are out in full force in this thread.

Meanwhile we are still managerless after the bROFLiLOLiant decision to sack the manager.

It's been 2 weeks. We've played ONE game since. I'd rather the club take their time and get the right guy!

Ohhh yeeeaaah, because THAT is the reason now?!? I was clearly mistaken when I thought it was because the guy we wanted TURNED US DOWN, and made us look like CLOWNS.

There's only one clown. And it's the one who thought we'd get fewer points than Derby.

No one has made us look like clowns. Our first target chose to stay with Brighton which is the right decision. We'll be in the same league next season, and he will now get a slightly better budget. He used us for his clubs own benefit. So what?

If you want us to rush an appointment for the sake of it, it'll almost certainly end in tears. Alternatively we can be patient and get the guy we want!
