sandman You think everything's fantastic. It's not fantastic, it's not awful, it's just... :|

Your dour posts will not ruin this for me. Great appointment. Well done Anton.

+1 from me.

If you asked Wolves fans, Saunders or Adkins, or Leeds fans, Warnock or Adkins, what do you think their response would be?

What did people really expect? We're not going to attract the top top managers. Non-Reading fans think it' an excellent move and so do I. Best man to replace the baldy legend.

So your defence of Adkins is that he's better than Dean Saunders? :?

This is wrong. Adkins is 54% win isn't it?

He IS a top manager though. Done it with & without money. Anyone moaning at this either needs a reality check or medication.

By signing a guy so similar to Brian (without the ability to perform a miracle of course or could he  ) the one thing it does do is make a mockery of the we need to change the club from top to bottom brigade.

Very sad about Brian going.

Would've wanted Curbishley in.

BUT

Delighted with Adkins. Sidewards step or not I think most people are missing the point as only one thing matters here:

HE'S ANTON'S MAN

Poor old Brian was never Anton's man. Anton did a favour to let him stay it seems when he took over and was just waiting for him to slip up. The unexpected promotion threw him. He would have to be a world beater to have a chance in hell, and the poor man would never get the full funds support from Anton. Right or wrong, that's the way it is.

I'd rather have a man in who Anton wants and will support fully, with no excuses.

Fir that reason alone goodbye Brian, welcome Adkins.

I don't need to defend Adkins. His managerial record does that.

My point was that there are two clubs, much larger than us, who would do their gran up the Gary glitter to have Adkins as their club's manager. Who would you prefer? Who would be your choice?

Can't wait for next season now. Even if we don't go up we'll be good to watch without being a tiki taka pass around the back 4 bore fest.

Good appointment for me. Scunny and Saints played good stuff under him and his record for getting teams promoted is decent. The Saints game will be fun too! :D

I think we will be pleasantly surprised by what Adkins does for Reading FC. he is really into sport science and meticulous in his preparation.

He's got a massive point to prove to his former employers and will certainly get the squad motivated with fresh ideas and new training etc.

he deserves 100% backing from us supporters.

Tiki taka is not "passing it around the back four" that's the British interpretation of it.

So similar? In what ways?
