Spud Gun Adkins was the easy choice, not the right choice. The right choice allegedly turned us down...

Cobi He's by far and away the best man to get us back up, so yes!

grey_squirrel Have had it up to here with everyone saying what a nice bloke Coppell was; what a nice bloke McDermott was blah blah. That doesn't count on the pitch.

andrew1957 Positives - I think this appointment stops us doing a Wolves - I fully expect that we will be competitive in the Championship with Adkins at the helm.
Negatives - I think it is a like for like replacement to Brian (after all Brain won their personal duel last season) and does not take us to the next level.
However, Brian is not coming back so we might as well get behind Adkins next season. For this season I am done and will not be attending any more matches in protest at the club's sacking of Brian – but I will most likely be back attending all the home games again next season as we challenge at the top of the table.

To be fair what happened out on the pitch under Coppell and McDermott was pretty outstanding - certainly far greater than anything any other Reading manager has ever achieved. The fact they were both decent blokes who conducted themselves in the right way was just a bonus.

Royalwaster Interestingly the poll shows that the noisiest on here do not represent the majority view - from reading the various threads on here you'd have thought that most people thought that:
a) sacking BM was the wrong choice and b) appointing NA is the wrong move.
But actually over 80% think NA is the right man for the job and more than half think that sacking BM was the right choice. Just shows that those that shout the loudest often don't represent the majority view.

Although, on another thread with more votes, the majority say that it was the right decision to sack Brian. How to reconcile this apparent conundrum
