Extended-Phenotype Ok, Adkins has taken Southampton up, but they are not exactly safe or doing much better than Reading.

Extended-Phenotype Don’t see the point of this appointment at all.

For this season I am done and will not be attending any more matches in protest at the club's sacking of Brian – but I will most likely be back attending all the home games again next season as we challenge at the top of the table.

I think it was the right decision to let Brian go... Although I would of rather he stay at the club in another role (understudy to Adkins?)

Barry the bird boggler For those unaware, Nigel Howard Adkins was a goalkeeper for Tranmere, Wigan and Bangor in the 1980s and early 90s. He then became manager at Bangor and won the welsh league twice with them.
He then qualified as a physio from Salford University and joined Scunthorpe in that role until becoming manager there in 2007 leading them to promotion to the championship, relegation and then promotion again in successive seasons.
Along came Southampton and successive promotions to the PL

Harpers So Solid Crew Sacking Brian was the correct decision, Adkins has the ability to get us back up again next season if we go down this season.

This. I dont understand why everyone is saying this is a lateral move. Adkins plays a better style of football, can attract top quality players and has a successfull history of promotion.

They're 8 points above us, E-P. Come on.

andrew1957 Positives - I think this appointment stops us doing a Wolves - I fully expect that we will be competitive in the Championship with Adkins at the helm.
Negatives - I think it is a like for like replacement to Brian (after all Brain won their personal duel last season) and does not take us to the next level.
However, Brian is not coming back so we might as well get behind Adkins next season. For this season I am done and will not be attending any more matches in protest at the club's sacking of Brian – but I will most likely be back attending all the home games again next season as we challenge at the top of the table.
