SPARTA --------------------------------------- McCarthy ---------------------------------------

Kelly ---------------- Mariappa ---------------------- Pearce ---------------- Shorey

----------------------- Karacan ---------------------- Carrico ------------------------

Robson-Kanu ------------------------ Guthrie ------------------------------ McAnuff

Yeah I'd like that but Leigertwood is invincible. Carrico trained again and without the knee strapping, so he must be fit now.

I expect:

--------------------------------------- McCarthy ---------------------------------------

Kelly ---------------- Mariappa ---------------------- Pearce ---------------- Shorey

----------------------- Karacan ---------------------- Leigertwood -------------------
--------------------------------------- Guthrie -----------------------------------------
Robson-Kanu ---------------------------------------------------------------- McAnuff

------------------------------------- Pogrebnyak ---------------------------------------

You may as well just pick names out of a hat for our midfield places.

..............McCarthy
..Kelly, Pearce, Mariappa, Shorey
........Guthrie, Leigertwood
McCleary....McAnuff.....Robson-Kanu
.............Pogrebnyak

Subs: Taylor, Cummings, Morrison, Akpan / Guthrie, ALF, Blackman, Obita

Happy to see Akpan instead of Guthrie, or maybe at a push Leigertwood. Harsh on Hunt maybe, but it seems excessive to have him, ALF and Blackman on the bench and at least with Blackman you've got a significantly different option to ALF.

I'm sorry, but the team in the OP :D One in midfield :D

Would like to see the team named by Ian, though maybe with the wingers switched, and ideally with an extra winger on the bench (Obita) in place of Akpan or Karacan. I expect the team named by Divvy.

Would have named Obita on the bench for Karacan't in the absence of Kebe (who'd play ahead of McCleary if fit) but I thought he was on loan.

Returned from loan on Tuesday and said he wants to impress the new manager rather than extend his loan. Oldham loved him there. His first training session with us is tomorrow, so unlikely to win a place on the bench in that short space of time.

I must admit, when it is too late and there are games to experiment, I'd give him and Samuel some game time.

There'll be time for some piss taking in the last two or three games when we're (possibly) mathmatically gone already.

Yeh I would have Blackman on the bench as he adds something different. Le Fondre and Hunt are too similar. Many people will disagree but I've liked what I've seen from him so far. Good touch, good movement, bit of pace. Finishing needs to improve. I think he will be good next year!
